swissman Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 SUMMER RENAISSANCE kinda deserves to be a summer single tbh. tbh she should make ALL songs singles, they're so good.
Stan.killah Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 That's unfortunate when there's other better (radio friendly/edits) songs they could release instead. REN might only be a 2 or 3 single era considering Act 2 might come later this year, so that already limits future single choices. Summer Ren better come through with the visuals now

They heard the album yet wasted all the first day's playlist on Church Girl when AS and CI were just there. And now all of sudden SR is the single.
Comedor Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 There will be legal ramifications to this Ms Beyonce.
swissman Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Beyoncé can make this masterpiece of an album and we're gonna sit here and complain about which singles she wants to push? It's her work, let's just let her do what she wishes in regards to what she wants to put out and when.

Cuff it makes sense as a fall single (3rd single), summer renaissance does not. Single 2 is being released less than 2 months after BMS, single 3 is coming in Oct/Nov and Cuff It makes sense Yes exactly. By next summer, there will probably be something from Act II released and she'll have moved onto that era. This is the only time she can really release Summer Renaissance. Cuff It can come later like you said.
Mikeymoonshine Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I'm actually not even sure how this would do. It's a catchy song with nice melodies but it also heavily relies on a sample. Then again sometimes that actually helps a single so idk I would have picked Cuff It, also why move so quickly to another single when the Break My Soul video isn't even out yet?
_Fey Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I feel like they're only pushing this song so hard because they want to capitalize off it as much as they can while it's still summer.

Material Girl Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 weird choice for a second single when there’s a handful of other songs that are being received better and have stronger initial numbers
BGKC Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 It’s not a bad choice, just unfortunate. The fact that it’s one of the more blatantly sampled tracks makes it fell less original as opposed to Cuff it or Alien Superstar. Alien Superstar can wait for October I tho ig, it has Halloween smash written all over it..

I duno, I know it heavily USES the sample, but I feel it supercedes "reliance" on it in the specific way she uses it...it's very much used as a reference and Beyoncé knows you know what it is. It doesn't feel like she's trying to redo the iconic melody in a new way to make up for making a new iconic melody, in the context of the album and its concept, it feels so right, like she's putting a footnote at the end of the album about her inspirations: DONNA SUMMER, Disco Queen... also the way that she floats into the sampled lyrics acknowledges that it's almost a seperate part of the song itself, she transcends from what she's saying into a new plane and that to me is SUCH magic.
Starkboy Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Not when Cuff It screams radio smasha nn Whatever I guess.

However hopefully it will be the DH this era.

Of course its a good single It's definitely one of the most accessible tracks on the album and servicing it to pop radio is a good idea.. I really like SR, but it'll be interesting how pop radio takes to it? I do think her team has some tricks up their sleeve...

Yeah I guess heavily uses is the wrong way of saying it. It's more that the sample is very obvious and everyone will recognise it's a sample. I do agree with what you said here, just wondering how that will effect it's success. I could see it helping or hindering it tbh.

It really does, with us being in the month of August.. might as well close the summer with Summer Renaissance.

The fans want success for the album too though, so they can rub it in other people's faces if it does well. Releasing anything but the best songs as singles will undermine the success of the album and then make the artist look bad for wasting potential and the fans will feel embarrassed. Rev8 Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I was wondering if she will try to repeat what Donna did
matheusbep Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 we all know she probably won't do much to promote whatever single they release and she probably has visuals for every track on the album, so i'm cool with the choice lol
