The way you'd sing a different tune if Susan Sarandon or Jill Stein were doing the same thing. :toofunny3:

My take has always been that 3rd parties in US politics are pointless and delusional, period. The hypocrisy is seeing people who constantly complain about 2-party system and longing for more parties, complain a 3rd party being formed because it doesn't align with their beliefs. So you can't have your cake and eat it, you either support the breaking of the 2-part hegemony and welcome 3rd parties - regardless if they're left, right or center- or you don't.

But this isn't the criticism. People calling for more than 2 parties are saying that the two parties are not sufficient to represent the political views of the country (which is excessively diverse in culture, background, and perspective), hence why we need more than 2 parties. Simply making a new party comprised of people with the same perspectives of the already-existing parties doesn't fix this issue and is thus a waste of time. Nobody asking for more parties is saying we want another Republican Party or another Democratic Party. We are saying we want parties that are distinctly different in terms of political ideology from either of the two major parties. That's the criticism. What Andrew is doing does nothing to address that criticism. Your mockery of supposed hypocrisy falls flat because it, too, misses the point of that legitimate concern with our system.

Literal dumbassery. Yes, the solution of the many issues of both major parties that literally keep half the country from engaging is another corporatist party. How dense can one person be? :skull:

We do need a third party (and I literally think one could cause a serious dent in the 2024 election for the first time in history) but this one just seems neocon-ish

Bernie has been an elected official since 81 he’s won plenty of elections.

DRAG HA, Danny :clap3:

not only that, but Bernie has won several states in a Democratic presidential primary (unlike Yang - plus it didn't take Bernie 103 attempts to win a state in a Democratic presidential primary like it took Biden in 1988, 2008, and 2020 :deadvision:)

There’s a small fraction calling for Medicare For All so the donor class characterizes it as far-left.

It's a "small fraction" in government, but A LOT of Democrats and Democrat-leaning Independents in the US want it (thus it's not far-left) :rip: the problem is that our government is out-of-step with what the people want

The gag is that there's already a third conservative party - the Libertarians - which got over 3% of the vote in 2016. With this policy-free mess of yet another ""centrist"" party, Yang wouldn't even manage to beat that 3% :cm:
