Rights being taken away by judges appointed by Trump? Like the level of intellectual dishonesty. If I’m being gracious, because otherwise it’s just plain ignorant.

It seems as if Trump is being more transphobic rather than homophobic in this speech. 
 

But honestly this is not the most concerning thing he has said and I don’t see him reversing his views on gay people in general. I think he was the first president in office to be pro-gay rights (although he is NOT pro trans rights, so I can’t say pro LGBT). 
 

also, never voted for trump and never will, but honesty is important too and I think the headline is misleading.

The headline is wildly misleading and honestly shameful. There is enough about him to hate that we don't have to twist his speeches like this.

I do think that people shouldn't be able to talk freely about such a complicated thing as transitioning and puberty blockers in front of children. But however I do think that any trans kids who get diagnosed with being trans at a young age should be able to make the decision of taking them (maybe at 16?) and should be informed, but I don't think those kind of conversations should be made in class, specially when the teacher is probably not a psychologist specialised in gender dysphoria and stuff like that. Having those kinds of conversations with someone who isn't a specialist can give the kid the wrong diagnose and project their body dysmorphia even further, maybe even thinking that they are in the wrong gender, when in reality they might just be going through puberty and hating their body as a whole.

How is the headline misleading? Trump attacked LGBTQ+ people. Him targeting trans people is still attacking LGBTQ+ people.
 

To your middle point, Trump said he didn’t care about trans people in 2016 and he got a lot of brownie points because he said trans people can freely use the bathroom for their gender in his hotels. Caitlyn Jenner tried it and confirmed she was able to use the women’s restroom. He then flipped immediately and threw trans people under the bus to score points with his transphobic base. Thinking he won’t do the same to gay people is delusional thinking.

So him being transphobic is okay so long as he’s not descending into homophobia? Further, hormone blockers for children have existed since the 80s for children who experienced puberty before their bodies were ready to do so. Hormone blockers delayed their puberty to a more normal age. Using them on children is very much normal whether it’s for trans people or otherwise. This writing off the severity of this attack as “no big deal” harms the LGBTQ+ community as a whole. Trump will flip on gays to out-crazy Ron DeSantis and win more favorability with his homophobic base.

Find me the interviews with Trump saying he is in favor of gay rights? Wasn’t he against the Supreme Court overturning the right to fire people for being gay? You can also find interviews where he says he is against same sex marriage. That was before he even ran for President. So I don’t get where this Trump is in favor of gays even comes from.
