Cause it was released at midnight UK time on April 1st, so Justin Bieber fans (and bitter Zayn fans like the one who replied above me) like to act like the song was released on March 31st and took a day longer, when that's simply not the case. The official date of release is April 1st. April 1st to June 27th is 117 (118 when we find out), and even if you erased the partial streaming from March 31st he would've still reached a billion in the same amount of time. It's currently at 1.002B and partial streaming day was <1.5m

 

It's the fastest solo song to hit 1B streams, and the fastest song overall (tie) to hit 1B streams. It also hold this record for 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, and 900M (not sure about 100 and 200).
