Now claiming that Hold Me Closer is a bigger hit than Cold Heart is absolutely delusional :dies:

LOL! Sweetie, Hold Me Closer became a bigger hit than Cold Heart 7 days after it released. It's time to accept it and move on.

It's a higher peaking song, but not a bigger hit. It's a decent sized hit for both of them and i'm happy it did what it did and it keeps on going :clap3:

It's a bigger hit because it achieved everything without a single performance and a completely unrelated music video. It's the Energizer Bunny of hit singles.

The way this is still charting and survived the Holiday period :jonny: A HIT. Imagine if she had promoted it, it would’ve been even bigger.

So it'll probably leave after 20 weeks, but that's still a great chart run. :clap3:

HMC had a good run. Xmas kept it from having many weeks top 30 but it's a song that made history one way or another.

20 weeks. Had a good run. 250 pages for this thread as well.

Fun times.

20 weeks is good enough for this song. It did fine.

The fact that half of the songs in the 30s/40s positions are falling 5-10 spots when it could have fallen faster and HMC get 20+ weeks.

But 20 weeks is great. Next singlet release Britney. We are ready:celestial3:

Im so confused? Why r some of yall saying it wont chart. Its only at 52 last time i checked. Couldnt it still chart for 2 more weeks atleast

Billboard Hot 100 rules for recurrent songs:

Once a song reaches 20 weeks, it has to be higher than #50 to remain on the chart

Once a song reaches 52 weeks, it has to be higher than #25 to remain on the chart

This is a DUMB RULE. So what it just gets kicked off the chart!?!?!??! Tf!!!

It had a good run:jonny:I was absolutely certain that Britney would retire from music, but we had this cute hit. It did even better in many other significant markets.
