Do we consider this a moderate hit ? Happy Britney could get a moderate hit this decade. I hope this motivates her to release more music and maybe an album

Moderate ? :deadbanana4:

The song is a legitimate hit. It did amazing in many countries. It’s going to cross 20 weeks in the US and the reception has been very positive.

The only place on Earth where you will find people calling it a flop is ATRL.

I really don’t think it is. It’s selling like 20k a week

It's close not quite yet. Probably in a couple months. Definitely eligible for Platinum in Australia, Canada and Brazil though. Daddy Elton better give us those plaques.

It 100% is a hit lol. The biggest of her career? Absolutely not. The biggest of Elton's career? Absolutely not. But it's still a hit, it did amazing and it's still alive :clap3:

Also... isn't this Elton's 2nd biggest hit after the Candle in the Wind song... 25 years ago? Not too shabby

HMC peaked at #6 on Billboard Hot 100, Cold Heart at #7 so I guess we can look at this that way :clap3:

And people still try to pretend that it was Elton's impact only that the song was successful :dies:

I just checked and he literally did not chart on Billboard during the entire 2010s decade. Only 2 entries in the UK as well with the biggest one peaking at #48. He had a handful Top 10 hits in the UK during the early 2000s but none charted on the Hot 100 or where anywhere near as big as Hold Me Closer in most countries. So yes, this is in fact his 2nd biggest hit of the past 25 years, and his highest peak :clap3:

Now claiming that Hold Me Closer is a bigger hit than Cold Heart is absolutely delusional :dies:

If you define a hit song by its peak then yes but we all know peaks don’t mean a lot, especially as Britney stans.
