Define fast because I just checked and on day 20, CH was #62 WW with 1,433,348 streams. It was also a Wednesday, coincidentally.

I mean... it's not surprising, Dua Lipa is the most successful popgirl these days and pulls out huge streaming numbers. It is Britney's first release during the streaming era and her streaming stats have never been solid so I knew it would be her biggest weakness. To be fair streams are higher than what I hoped for but it's definitely way too low to go anywhere.

 

Though radio is supporting the song so far so we should continue to request as much as we can. Beyoncé's Break My Soul was a hit mostly thanks to radio. The streams were just fine and the sales were not there, so....

I’m sorry @Brishka but you are awfully pessimistic sis. Even today when we got the 3rd biggest radio update from the entire chart you were like “cute update”.
 

Gurl, this song is doing great. I know that as Britney stans we were used to seeing songs soar directly to #1 but those days are long gone. What’s going on right now with HMC is the NORMAL path for a normal song to become a hit.

This. Feel the same way. This is almost like Kygo when he did 'Higher Love' then tried to duplicate w/ Hot Stuff or whatever the follow ups were. Cold Heart nailed it. Yeah, this is a remix/mesh up of old songs but CH was totally fresh and innovative.

 

Hold Me Closer isn't 'bad' it's just kind of there. Kind of dull and missing that extra something that CH had. US radio and the GP prefers safer and bland. Watch Hold Me Closer ultimately perform better there. Not just chart peak but overall and on radio. Wouldnt at all be surprised if it re peaks on the Hot 100 thanks to huge radio out of the gate (which CH didn't have).
