To answer your last questions: potentially deadly millennia old viruses trapped in the permafrost in the Arctic might be released because of the melting of ice due to global warming.

For real, especially big delivery companies made so much money during pandemic, all while many small businesses were forced to close down

The FDA approved JYNNEOS back in 2019 because our government is prepared for biological terrorism using Smallpox. The United States stopped vaccinating against Smallpox in 1973 so our government has been updating the Smallpox vaccines since ACAM2000 was such a **** show and they want something good in case terrorists ever use biological warfare. If they were going to bioengineer some disease for massive casualties or to create new medicines/vaccines, they wouldn’t have made a virus that’s a significantly weaker sibling of Smallpox, has had an effective vaccine for 70 years and is not typically deadly in countries with access to healthcare. The government spends money every year to keep their infrastructure in place and produce vaccines just in case someone uses Smallpox as an act of biological terrorism. Why do you think they were already able to produce millions of vaccines within weeks and already had millions in stock?

Many articles mentioned the need to update the smallpox vaccine production because it was obsolete since it was not being use. Even if they kept it in check, I hardly doubt they were producing millions of vaccines just to throw it out in case biological terrorism never happen. In fact, couldn't that be a reason for them to purposely start a new epidemic, as they new they could finally sell the vaccines that were ready to be produced
