there's a new viral tweet dragging mcu releases every day, most of their movies had lukewarm reception with their audience this year and even russo brothers had to address the criticism for phase 4

will they rebound or is marvel over?

Posted

Yes. DC better.

No, it's not, it literally has 2 of the biggest movies of the year :rip:

Well Twitter said it, so it must be true. ?

No, they’re not over. Some of the latest projects have been underwhelming, but they’ve also put out some solid content like WandaVision.

It’s ludicrous to think that Marvel or DC will ever be over. They’re not going anywhere.

Yes, people are just tired of Marvel already :cm:

Tom Holland is all we care about

End Phase 4 it’s going NOWHERE. Just focus on Spider-King! We want the next movie

There’s just too much going on. Quantity over quality.

There's an oversaturation of marvel projects tbh, 3 movies a year is fine, but now you add the shows and it's just way too many things for the GP. It doesn't help that most of them follow the same formula, so it gets old quite fast.

All I got from that is that Marvel just needs a new final boss

dc has batman and a bunch of great villains and that always sells

what does mcu have now, they killed all of their best superheroes and villains, only thor is left and he should've died in already too instead of being turned into a joke

exactly

all the movies in the previous phases were building up to something, this phase is just so disjointed and it's not even clear what the main goal is or who they gonna go up against or team up with in later movies

there's no excitement for that

Until they have an outright bomb ( and the pandemic can't be used as an excuse ala BW/Eternals). No.

Stop acting twitter= real life. That's been proven to not be the case several times.

Funny how all the man babies are now screeching  "MaRVeL iS Over!!!11" when 7 month ago they were praising Marvel to the heavens during No Way Home's release :swan:

We can only hope.

Basic minds need to be entertained somehow though.

The quality has been over.

They're in a bit of a flop era but the reality is their movies are still the most successful and talked about every year. If this is what being over is then that's laughable because others would kill for this success.

The main issue is that they are effectively starting from the beginning again and have to build everything back up. People have fond memories but seem to forget that many of the early movies had similar issues to what is being talked about now. Once they are back in their groove and have introduced new heavyweights like F4 and Xmen, people will be over this complaining phase. Ultimately, it's mostly just about patience (Yes the movies are somewhat flawed too, but they always have been to varying degrees). Let's see the reaction when they announce their new projects soon.

And Marvel also has a bunch of popular characters like Spider-Man, Captain America, Hulk and Iron Man. You’re just looking at the MCU. Chris Evans won’t be the last person to play a live action Captain America and Robert Downey Jr won’t be the last to play Iron Man. Look at how many actors we’ve had play Batman, Superman and Spider-Man. These characters will always be reimagined. Marvel and DC isn’t solely movies and tv shows either. They’re comic books, video games, action figures and much more.

I see Marvel and DC like football. They’ll always be here as they’re generational. Marvel and DC have existed for years and years and that’s not stopping anytime soon. People just like to be dramatic.

People on Twitter love to bandwagon on hating on the MCU. I'm not even a huge MCU fan but people there are so overboard with their hate.

Also, Morbius isn't part of the MCU. :toofunny3:

Don’t they have 2 of the highest grossing movies of the year so far? Y'all just be saying **** just for the sake of saying it.

They'll never be over as long as they continue to bring in the money. There's a reason Disney has double downed on pumping out more Marvel content year after year.

The only company that is lowkey over is Pixar. They'll probably get delegated to mostly Disney+ releases.

they're in a mid era for sure quality wise but also MoM and L&T are like some of the most successful movies of the year. They just need a central theme of this phase there's too much random **** going on.

no marvel just needs to go back to their formula and itll be fine

This

Most of the complaints right now are coming from internet incels as they have almost no "alpha" white straight male heroes left that they can relate to.

I do kinda think they'll be seriously damaged if Black Panther 2 is bad which seems somewhat likely considering the quality of MoM and L&T.

hopefully so

Leave Marvel alone. I’m enjoying it.

If you’re not, just shut up and watch something else. No one cares about your opinion
