fridayteenage Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 it's interesting how cillian's never been close to a nom before. the power of biographies + war

How big is her role and will it be significant enough for supporting nominations in the future? Spoiler I was starting to get sleepy (the movie started at 10pm for us and by this time it was past midnight) but she gagged me during the interrogation scene. She got my attention back, for whatever that's worth. Â

Kylizzle Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Emily Blunt could def get a nomination for her work at the end. I was surprised to see a Nolan movie with strong female moments tbh
X~MoviePoP Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 How boring is this from a scale of 1-10. I loved dunkirks paceing
Elusive Chanteuse Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Anyone listening to the soundtrack? Its so good.Â

I loved dunkirks paceing Honestly, I did Barbenheimer and started with a 10:30am showing of this after being hungover from a friend’s bday. I was so scared I was gonna fall asleep  Full transparency, I loved it. Never bored. Fully invested in the story. It was great. You’ll enjoy this.Â
AdamL44 Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Like I don't wanna *commit* to saying this is one of the best things I've ever seen but I honestly can't remember the last time a film made me feel *this* way in a cinema... Â the TEST scene....the GYM scene...the FINAL scene...so many moments in this had me actually sweating palpitating and shaking...the gym scene in particular one of the most harrowing things I've seen on the big screen...crazy crazy stuff. Â This + Barbie in ONE DAY??? CinemaÂ

TheDreamer Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 I can't stop listening to this  I think we have our Original Score winner  3
Kylizzle Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Anyone saying it was boring can't be trusted. There were so many times I was sweating and stressed out in my seat Â
VOSS Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 I loved it, though I thought it could’ve been cut a bit shorter.  I saw it in IMAX and they said all showings are sold out for the next 10 days Â
Roberto Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Movie of the year, I fear. Cillian, Emily and RDJ the standout of the movie. It was such an intense experience.Â
Hector Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 A great filmmaking experience. Great direction, cinematography, sound, and visual effects. On the technical front, this is definitely worthy of Oscars. Murphy carried the movie well, but RDJ had the dynamite moments. Â I was slightly disappointed Florence Pugh had so little screentime, though every scene of hers was memorable.
Whore of Babylon Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 pretty great reminder that the world can go poof at any moment  emily's big scene WHEW mama is coming for her nomination finallyÂ
JungleJuice Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 This movie was fantastic. Restored my faith in cinema after watching that crap fest barbie. Amazing acting and Suprise star apperances every 10 minutes. Did not feel 3 hours at all 1 4
Shazbaz13 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 (edited) This movie was so intense. What a film! The ending was chilling and really gets you thinking about how vulnerable we truly are. Edited July 23, 2023 by Shazbaz13
Bears01 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Nolan coming for his long overdue Oscar  it’s what he deservesÂ

Cefh Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Watching in IMAX is THAT different? I really wanna watch it this week but the IMAX theaters are all sold out Â
publikcitizen Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 What do we think this film will make in total at the box office? I’m guessing between $500 and $700 M.Â
Dark Phoenix Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Emily delivered her FYC reel with that interrogation scene in the end.  Honestly it feels like this is being overhyped, it’s good but the pacing is too fast and has no moments to breath and soak in, it feels like Terrence Malik meets House of Cards; also I felt uncomfortable watching Miss Flo going topl3ss again for her scenes like it wasn’t needed and she also did it in DWD.  Cillian was fine but not sure if Oscar worthy, a nomination is locked tho. RDJ was meh but I could see him having a BSA nom, and that’s it.  The first act was too much talking, the second was entertaining and the last act a letdown again, at least it was better than Tenet. 1
