Mr. Mendes Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 On 12/15/2022 at 9:25 AM, makeme said: He re uses actors a lot. Cillian again? This is a common practice with auteur directors. Scorsese, Spielberg, Tarintino, Nolan, Burton, Cameron...they all have a tendency to have close and long lasting relationships with actors and off camera talents (such as cinematographers, composers, etc). Auteurs succeed when they're surrounded by people that they understand and that understand them. The specific ticks and processes that certain directors go through are not going to be something all actors are suited to, and not all processes actors go through are going to be something every director can work with. When you find someone you make magic with, you make magic with them multiple times.  It's like an artist finding a muse they reference constantly or a musician finding a producer they prefer to work with.Â
midnightdawn Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Looks like it's going to be heavy on the flag waving/USA USA patriotic angle.
chris1991 Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Kinda not impressed not exactly sure why…. Nolan is a great director, there is no denying that, so it’ll likely be good. Do I want to sit through a dark movie about Nazi’s vs American nationalist in 2023 prob not.
