One can recognize that this is foolish, childish, and asinine and that there’s a generation so obsessed and devoted to a book series written for children (also written by a raging transphobe and in which there are blatant displays of anti-Semitism and racism with disgusting stereotypes) to the unsettling and unhealthy degree in the way that some have even made it part of their identity in their adulthoods and have not been able to let go of this childhood fixation even after learning of all this - while also being able to enjoy pop culture in a pop culture forum - while also going outside, exercising, and playing sports.
