7. Depends on how you were taught though. People getting upset about this need to touch grass :rip:

North America includes Mexico and Central America so this doesn't even make sense.

Latin America doesn't only include Spanish-speaking countries btw.

Kinda off topic but do people really say Hawaii is apart of N. America? A bit random of wikipedia imo tbh :chick2:

i counted 7

There's no single continent that stretches from the arctic to the antarctic oceans. The Americas are two separate continents.

There is only 1 AMERICA (the continent)... then, if we subdivide if anything is not 2 but 3... North America ( from Mexico and above), Central America (From Guatemala to Panama) and South America (From Colombia to Argentina)... the whole "North America & South America" thing is something white people started teaching in their countries to feel apart and superior from the rest of Latinamerica (which encompasses all spanish speaking countries in that 1 American continent , and this is a cultural division, not geographical)

This applies more to Europe and Asia than to North and South America.

Europe and Asia are connected by a giant flat plain. They are not physically separate at all.

What about Africa and Asia then?

No I mean it’s technically one land mass Africa and Asia and Europe. Using the previous logic it should be one continent.

1. EuroAfriAsia (connected by land)

2. America (connected by land)

So only 2 real continents.

Australia and Antarctica are just some unimportant islands with too few people to considered continents. I mean we don't consider Madagascar and Greenland as continents for the same reason.

We're taught there's 7.

Yeah, Europa and Asia are technically one, but they're Main Continent Girls so they get their own slot

I remember there are some criteria on what landmass is considered a continent but forget what they are

I guess it's not limited to being "physically separate"

NASA and Google Earth have been lying to us for multiple centuries. The Earth is flat and the continents are all connected. Most people don't know this, but you can get to Egypt from the Appalachian mountains in North America.

The answer really depends on where you are from.  I was taught 7.

However I really do not understand how people can justify on a logical basis "America" being one continent but "Europe and Asia; or Africa and Asia" not being one continent.  The logical answer would say either 7 or 4.
