Guest Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Netflix is in better shape than disney plus LMAO, no one cares about those old ass shows, thats why they had to create star wars and mcu content, and release all pixar movies there So far Netflix has hits show every season of the year, Ozark, Squid game, Stranger things, etc. If we were talking about HBO max or Amazon prime, then yeah, those are really big competitors that are stealing netflix main audience.
XAMJ Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 lol the dramatics , Netflix will still be a streaming giant , it’s never going away
D/X Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 While content might be one of the reasons, there is not a direct correlation between canceling shows and losing this big amount of subscribers. Maybe people are unsubscribing because, I don't know, the economic situation right now? Like seriously. Other platforms are not increasing subscribers as fast as they expected as well, and you can see how Warner (now Discovery) has backtracked their HBOMax plans and even shutting down all of their European series. With that being said, they definitely should increase quality instead of quantity. I'm worried for their employees, cause another round of layoffs is imminent.
JoeAg Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 I think i'm on an account shared with my dad, one of my brothers, and my cousin? let's see what they think because tbh i'd be fine without it! 123movies kinda stomps on it, honey turkeys
Egon Schiele Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Can't wait for it to die. Let's kill Spotify next and support artists instead of companies again
popmusicisdead Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 it's what they deserve for pandering to teenagers and sad adults who live vicariously through teenage shows
Gesamtkunstwerk Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 It's what they get for betting on all those low quality shows like Bridgerton and Emily in Paris, everyone talks about them for a hot moment, but it's not going to make people stay on the platform. Short term strategy. If they add ads it's truly over for them
teresaguidice Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) netflix is still profitable despite it's recent setbacks (and generally bad content imo). no other streamer is yet. so their situation isn't as dire as is being made out to be. it's more a question of if they'll grow (from their already massive market share) and continue to have budget to burn on attracting A+ level talent and making awful $200M blockbusters that come and go in a weekend or finally plateau and make less content/spend with caution. Leptine Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 They for sure need to improve the quality of their shows and invest in better projects, it's been years they use this excuse to raise prices but the quality keeps declining instead, the platform has too much crap tv nowadays and bad shows, and the problem is also between not american stuff, they invested in a lot of cheap and bad writing foreign shows too. Like for example recently they released a totally useless Korean remake of 'La Casa de Papel' which ended just last year without making any change in characters or story, a complete waste of time.
tonyle1911 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 They paid too much money to actors and spend tons of dollars on low-quality shows/movies such as the one with Ryan Reynolds and Gal GaDot (How come directors and investors approve such a bad script ???). In Asia, Korean shows are saving their viewers / subscribers with hit shows this year: 2521, Business Proposal… I mean they are number 1 constantly in Asia for weeks. Squid game & All of us are dead also brought them tons of money. But I don’t think they spend that much on these shows, when most of the actors are new and very young. Hit show like Kingdom has not even been renewed yet. While Emily in Paris is getting 4 seasosns despite its sh**ty content of ss2

If I’m paying you every month and you have ads, you better at least have good options to watch… +1 I hate ads. Its the only reason I have YT premium. If I still have ads on top of monthly bills, I will unsub
SpankGangsta Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 I still want them to continue The Witcher its my favorite of theirs. But HBO Max >>>>>>> any other services
fais_2311 Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Netflix is still kinda big at my country but only because of the korean tv series they bought from korean channel. It’s like 8 out of top 10 daily are korean tv series They need better contents and not let people waited so lpng to watch the new season of their series.
Nip Tuck Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Netflix is still the best streaming service to me. Disney+ keeps throwing out mediocre Star Wars and Marvel content, at least Netflix has variety. I have Amazon but only bc i forgot to cancel my sub, I basically never use it. idk about the other services but the one service everyone ik has is Netflix. It’ll be fine.
Distantconstellation Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Disney+ has a huge guaranteed hit with Xmen 97', a continuation of the loved xmen the animated series cartoon from the 90s that got huge ratings when it was out and left a huge legacy.
Mr. Mendes Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) There is always gong to be an audience that will get on Netflix when a new season of one of their powerhouses drops (The Crown, Stranger Things, Elite, and now Heartstopper). Where they need to focus their attention is on what happens in the interim. Once people finish the season, they leave. Their choices are now either produce better supporting content to justify sticking around between seasons of their biggest shows or stop with the dropping of a whole season at one time and go with the weekly episode release model that is currently driving revenue nowhere but up for Disney+ and HBO Max to prolong seasons of their big shows to keep people around longer each time. Johnny Jacobs Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Thata what they can for unrenewing the society
ProudLBS Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 This is what would’ve happened to the music industry if labels had created their own streaming services.
chiliam Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 They needs to stop their ridiculous 100m+ movies. Those movies can only make profit in theater not on a streaming service. And not to mention the quality for those movies are also questionable. And if the big budget movies are good, audience will feel like Netflix take away their theater experience.
thismoment Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 that’s what happens when you release new seasons after 2 years and keep renewing shows like elite
