Venice B Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Of course she doesn't know, she doesn't have any personality or artistic point of view whatsoever. Her albums are always failed attempts to ride what's working for other artists, and she always fails miserably because she simply can't stand by her own work. She will do the same thing in the next two years when she releases a disco inspired album, just you wait
Where are you now? Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 During the Plastic Hearts era, Miley didn't shade her previous eras once... she celebrated them. So everyone in this thread can shut up

I could imagine her quotes making her ODHs even more pressed, however, which is good How is she honest when her takes on her own albums are about as stable as her pronouns?
kyliefever2002 Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 demi always mentions how she struggles to find her personality and herself as a person and tbh i think behaviors like this truly show it i feel like shes always trying to disconnect from her past image and is like "this is the new me and i love it" just to disconnect herself from this image too in the near future

Like of course I don’t always look back at myself with pride, but there are some things I did where I still think I did the damn thing
Sugar-Rush Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Geez, how hard is it to just be yourself? Most artists seem to do just fine. Well except maybe Miley, but at least versatility usually works in her favor.
Pop Life Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 (edited) WHAT is with these Disney girls being unable to own up to their past selves? What goes on in that machine that gives them such a fragmented sense of identity? I get that we all change –sometimes quite drastically– over time, but who you are now does not nullify the facts of who you were then. No amount of revision will erase that it happened. You wrote those words. You sang those songs. At the time it represented where you were in your life. Where's the sin in admitting it? Edited July 15, 2022 by Pop Life
ahauntingnearu Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 (edited) I feel lucky most of my faves never speak ill about their past work that said: - I do agree it's a different case for demi - mooooost people don't do this; it's basically just Miley who's notorious for it ddd Edited July 16, 2022 by ahauntingnearu
Keter Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Miley and Demi don’t realize how much this alienates fans that connected with that work. You’re always at square one because you tell people over and over that the version of you they connected with wasn’t genuine. After a point, people stop caring. It’s one thing to grow and change, but part of being a whole individual is integrating your past experiences into your current self.
Theshigo Washidu Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 She has bops, but Demi has always lacked identity as an artist. Even this new "I'm an edgy rockstar" phase she's on now is just another trendhopping wave following the pop rock success of Olivia.
Gerard141 Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 why do artists always do this lol. It's like just own your sh*t. This whole new album new me is sooo cringe
