I think Myers does become stronger when he kills, which is why he was such a machine during Kills, but, I think it’s only a temporary thing and he’d have to continuously murder to stay strong. This would explain why he’s weaker and more frail in the sewers but as soon as he gets to kill the cop, he starts to feel stronger again. I’m actually appreciating this film a lot more this second time around and I think I could end up loving it, which is crazy as I was borderline pissed off with it yesterday. 'he’d have to continuously murder to stay strong'. He was strong enough on Halloween 2018 when he escaped after the bus crush..he was really strong for a man that didn't make a kill for 40 years!!! Richie.Valdez Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 I was entertained but it definitely was a disappointment.
Life Savers Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 (edited) It was... fine. It was an improvement over Kills, which was abysmal. Edited October 16, 2022 by Life Savers
Vertigo Stick Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 I've given the movie more thought and after reading some reviews, I like the movie a whole lot more now. What they did was risky. Corey should have been introduced earlier in the trilogy. This being compared to Season of the Witch makes total sense. I completely understand why people don't like it. So now I need to watch Halloween, Halloween II, H18, Kills, and Ends to get the whole picture.
Hurem Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 I have to admit, I don't get these movies. Finding logic only makes me dislike them even more. When I stopped thinking too much, I found Ends to be an okay movie. Couldn't have been worse than Kills, for sure

DoctorIce Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Literally the worst film I've seen since Old.
BNF91 Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 The film's debut weekend of $41M is under pre-weekend expectations of $50-55M, as the terrible WOM has spread very quickly over the weekend. Some really ugly drops on Sat and Sun. Unfortunately the Sunday drop will be bigger than estimated, so the weekend estimate will likely go lower with actuals. Lets hope it stays above $40M. Think it will end up around $75-80M domestic, $50M overseas for $125-130M worldwide. Smile will overtake Ends within a week and a half, and might end up doubling Halloween Ends final box office.
RedCarpet Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 it was so bad... I hate it.. and I loved previous two movies so I had big expectations I'm so mad at them ending this trilogy with this sh*t

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but the homeless guy said to Corey after Michael let him out the tunnel, something like “why did he let you out, nobody comes out of there alive”. So it’s implied MM has been killing down there, but didn’t have the strength to leave until his kill with Corey? I do believe he is stronger when he kills, because essentially he’s doing evil… which he is the essence of. But why the sudden rebirth in strength when he kills with Corey?
MadonnasBoyfriend Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 I loved this. Sad there was no clear armpit shot of the new guy. Anyway loved the the new story line and would have definitely loved a spin off but oh well

I do believe he is stronger when he kills, because essentially he’s doing evil… which he is the essence of. But why the sudden rebirth in strength when he kills with Corey? We learn that a homeless man has been bringing him small amounts of food and people to murder every now and then, but it’s implied that he has remained hidden in the shadows of the sewers for years. Laurie mentions in Kills that the more Michael kills, the more he transcends. So, it’s understandable that he’s weaker and more human now he’s not been killing frequently at all, not to mention days upon days he was likely to have starved. I think he has to kill frequently to keep his strength, so he probably had surges of it when he was killing people in the sewers, but that wouldn’t have been a constant thing as I doubt the homeless man was able to lure people back there often.
fountain Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 I thought this was okay. Definitely better than Kills which was so hard to get through. The different take in this entry made it a bit more interesting, but of course the ending itself was still absolutely predictable. The ending was really only ever going to be one thing, and it was more about how we were going to get there, and I thought the way this movie took us there was entertaining enough. That said the characters were all so stupid and behaving oddly in this movie… honestly none of their behaviours made any sense to me; Laurie acting like that after her daughter is killed and Michael sulking off into the sewer after ending the last movie off at his strongest and most blood thirsty made no sense, and the granddaughter suddenly wanting to be a bad gal with her insta love guy was bizarre, it’s like a whole other movie was missing between Kills and this one. Anyway, it was fine and the deaths in this one were the most creative out of the trilogy, but I’m glad I didn’t have to pay to watch this.
Dark Phoenix Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 It’s been downhill since H18, I was kinda excited for this even when Kills was kinda meh but the fact that they have like 2/3 of the movie to Corey was dumb; then the granddaughter being so dumb and resentful out of nowhere; then Corey letting those kids get under his skin, really? Then Myers serving IT leaving in the sewers and regaining force after killing his victims… And the edition was too fast and they overused the over imposing scenes with other objects; oh well at least they did not make the granddaughter or Laurie the killers and they will let this franchise rest.
