bad guy Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Just did a time stamp and the fact that there's an entire MOVIE before Michael even shows up to do his thing
Oktober Knight Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Absolutely POS. The first 90% was absolutely atrocious, didn't even seem like a Halloween movie. The ending was good though but my god was it a challenge to get there.
JBJT2786 Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 It's basically an anthology film inserted in between what basically should've been the last 20 min of Halloween Kills initially. I get what they were getting at and the ending was amazing but God damn that was disappointing.... the rights are reverting back to the Akkad guy. I just hope when they do another one they leave Michael and Laurie alone. For me the best Halloween movies are 78', H20, and 18' Ya H2 fans need to rewatch cuz it does not hold up at all.

Spoiler I was kinda happy Corey stabbed himself cuz I wanted him out the damn movie already....Michael finishing him off was overkill.
Vixen Eyes Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 i need to catch up on the other Halloween films, i only watched the first one.

Lol H2 is still the best sequel and I watch it every year.. Halloween Halloween 2 and h20 are the only movies that I count and I can watch them as a great trilogy and Halloween 1 and 2 is like one big movie , Halloween 2 is the only movie who had elements of the original and almost had the same atmosphere..I can't stand movies with silly cops talking 3 minutes straight about sandwiches,a dad saying that he has peanut butter on his *****,a guy feeling horny cause they were feeding him guacamole in the most sexy ways (yeah I'm talking about the mediocre comedy Halloween 2018) !!! Memoirs387 Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 What a strange film. I loved the 2018 film, and roast me, but I enjoyed Halloween Kills. Sure, I see its flaws but I enjoyed it. For this movie, I actually appreciate that it took a different direction and I like the concept here, I just don’t think it was executed well. Overall, I’m very forgiving of this franchise and because I like the characters, I still liked it but definitely the worst of the 3 new ones. I mean, now that I know what this film is, I may enjoy it more on rewatches.
superchaz Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Is there anyone that liked the rob zombie remake of the first one? I quite liked how they were telling micheals back story as a child. The second one was rubbish though

Don’t think it took away from Michaels essence, but definitely made him more grizzly. I LOVE the second part of the film, when adult Michael comes to Haddonfield. I think it’s suspenseful and has some nice tributes to Carpenter’s original. The lead actress was annoying at times and I hate the rape scene in the hospital, so those are some negatives. Also think that Sheri Moon Zombie is an atrocious actress. But overall I like the film.
wantedyoutogrow Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 just got out of the theatre and tbh I don't know how to feel but this is 10 times better than kills
Cheers Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Wasn’t there another Halloween film confirmed ? Am I tripping ? I could’ve sworn in the Halloween Kills thread there were comments about how there’s another film coming after Ends
wantedyoutogrow Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 y'all doing too much, this is literally not that bad, better than 50% of the franchise
wantedyoutogrow Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 anyways there is so much that they showed in the trailers that wasn't in the movie, anybody have any tea on that?

Probably deleted scenes, happens with a lot of movies. The Scream 4 trailer had many scenes that weren't in the movie, but as deleted scenes on the DVD. Half of the Paranormal Activity 3 trailer wasn't actually in the movie.

ccfan007 Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Projected to open between $50-55 million. Another win for Mrs. Curtis
skankle Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 the levels upon which this is PANNED will be watching tonight to inevitably add to the dogpile
wantedyoutogrow Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 (edited) after thinking about it this is atleast a 7/10 on the first watch, at least for #me. There are definitely some strange choices made but atleast it was something different and I have to #respect that Spoiler the cons: • michael is underused and honestly he isn't even scary, the scene where corey literally beats his ass was comical • the romance between allyson and corey just seemed corny, like y'all have known each other for exactly 4 days, please be serious • the off-screen kills • I really don't know how to feel about some choices they made the pros: • the pacing is very good, much better than kills • the kills that were shown were very good actually • the final battle was very good and enjoyable • I'm happy that we are 100% sure that michael is dead, like that ambigious **** was getting annoying atp anyways next week I will watch it again and I hope I have more concrete opinions about the movie. Scream is still and will always be a better franchise tho Edited October 14, 2022 by wantedyoutogrow
GivingCher Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 (edited) I’m obsessed with how misguided this was as an ending to this trilogy. Who thought this was a good idea?? To be honest though… I had fun. It definitely tried to do something! I don’t know what it was but it was something! Edited October 14, 2022 by GivingCher

Sweetheart...the doll of the love interest getting killed in a explosion after being ran over by a car, the whole start of the Thorn crap, Dr.Loomis being more insane than Michael the whole movie and the dumb FED turning back just cuz Loomis had a gun on him and stupidily had to check Michael's body ( and you talk about dumb cops lol) Let's not forget the worst part, Laurie trapped in the hospital the whole time. Even the whole family twist was dumb ( "oh I suddenly remember I was adopted ") Ya look at H2 with rose tinted glasses. BEST SEQUEL MY ASS.
Julianna Calm Down Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Um, this left me feeling a bit empty. I appreciated it for the different vibe and the different direction it took. But it was still annoying in a sense. The end battle between Laurie and Michael was too short. The fact right Allison chose Corey over her grandmother was just ludicrous and unbelievable. Michael living in the sewers and getting beaten up and being 95 years old is just weird. It wasn’t really a slasher as it tried to incorporate other elements into the story. Michael had too little screen time. They did Lindsay dirty, she has 2 seconds of screen time and didn’t even get given a good kill-off. Some of the editing felt a bit clunky, like when Laurie visited Corey’s mother and the scene lasted for 5 seconds and serves absolutely nothing. But I’m glad it ended, and it felt like a definite ending, like there’s no more story to tell.

Lol nothing of all these things that you mentioned were bad in the movie..Ben tramer's death was clever and it happened for a reason,to make the police and dr Loomis stop searching about Michael and to make them believe that Michael was dead (cause ben tramer had almost the same mask)..dr loomis wasn't insane..you think of halloween 5 ,not Halloween 2. he was great in Halloween 2..he served more iconic lines in the sequel.he sacrificed his life to save laurie in the end .he died like a hero (I don't count Halloween 4-5-6). The thorn cult were never mentioned on Halloween 2.. thorn story was created in Halloween 6.. Michael only wrote samhain on the wall but they never explained why..it was a mystery and it was a creepy element without an explanation. Laurie was injured so of course she had to stay in the hospital.the same thing happened again in Halloween kills, laurie was in the hospital on Halloween kills for the whole movie but I didn't see you complain about it last year! Family twist wasn't dumb ,it was iconic and this is why the franchise had longevity for 40 years so you should respect it.. and of course this was the first mistake of this new messy trilogy by blumhouse ,they erased the siblings storyline.shame on them.it's like make a new star wars movie and say that Darth Vader was never luke's father!! So yes Halloween 2 WILL ALWAYS BE the best sequel. You can still support the mediocre comedies by blumhouse and David Gordon Green but they are not Halloween movies, they are garbage and as you can see everyone hated the final movie of this messy trilogy.so happy that it's finally over and blumhouse doesn't have the rights of the franchise anymore.they made enough damage.
