Rihanna is America's Youngest Self-Made Billionaire with a net worth of $1.4 billion

Love Riri, but Forbes has been known to exaggerate people's wealth and about 90% of a person's wealth, at that level, is in assets and investments (which they do mention). Also, there is no such thing as a "self-made" billionaire. There was an entire team around her that allowed to get to the level of celebrity to the point that she could market and sell products.

Again, this is nothing against Rihanna (I love her), but more so the culture of worshipping people because of their obscene wealth.

I wonder what her stans think of this. That check may be so divine, but it’s the music that got her there. Money shouldn’t be the main reason to do things? Shouldn’t she reward her fans every now and then with some music?

Music obviously isn't her passion anymore and that's alright. You can probably blame her label for having her release every year, with no break in between, and burning her out.

What’s wrong with praising a smart business woman like Rihanna? Especially when she created her company from scratch and comes from a poor working class family. The same could be said for other billionaires who come from humble beginnings.

Let's not do too much. She literally had the world's biggest fashion/cosmetics company behind her.

Very impressive. The fact that she doesn't own these companies 100% and yet they're so successful she's still worth $1.4b is huge. :jonny: Imagine if she had even bigger stakes in these companies. Her network would be double.

I mean, assets and investments make up the bulk of most people's net worth? Of course Rihanna doesn't have $1.4b in the bank, but she has control over her $1.4b worth of assets and investments.

As for self-made, yeah, I'd say Rihanna is the opposite. She's had a lot of money and help behind her from the beginning of her career. She didn't make her way from Barbados on her own. :toofunny:

That's kind what I was saying. To emphasize though, investments and assets still don't tell the full story. First, they go up and down in value all of the time and second, some of those investments/assets are also likely shared.

She's so incredible. I admire her so much. I truly think when (if) she comes back to music, the world will break. It'll be one of the biggest comebacks we've ever seen and i CAN'T WAIT :duca:
