Even the British Army Chief said that the US and UK would be outnumbered if a conflict happened.

Numbers don’t mean anything today. Both the UK and US have a more powerful navy and Air Force. How exactly is China going to invade the US when they can’t even invade Taiwan? Not to mention all the guns Americans have. Americans have more guns and ammunition than citizens. Not only that, but historically China has lost to countries with populations smaller than it plenty of times like to Japan, Russia, UK, France, Germany, Mongols, etc.

Wars aren’t even fought that way anymore also. You don’t see men going to battle like they did 200 years ago. It’s mostly air strikes, tanks, and other machines. Wars are won by supplies, money and espionage.

China doesnt want to invade Taiwan though. They want to slowly absorb it. It is too important to bomb into submission.

That won’t happen anytime soon.

Yeah but my point was just cos china isnt bombing Taiwan doesnt mean it lacks the military strength to do so. It will probably play the long game and make sure it is definitely top dog first.

Taiwan does not want that. And has the military capability to do so. Like have you ever spoken to Taiwanese people? They under no circumstances want to join the PRC. Hong Kong was given to them. But Taiwan is its own separate country. China doing that would be the cause of a war as Taiwan is in alliance with the US and the West.

Yeah but is Taiwan really that important an ally to the US that the US would risk a world war? Remember nuclear powers dont confront each other directly.

Yes, they are. Taiwan controls much of the worlds production of semiconductors. Taiwan is one of the most important allies to the US and the West because of this. That's why the US has so many military vessels in the straits of Taiwan, and has shown force when Taiwan was threatened. So yes, the US will risk war.
