You can think a trans woman is a man, but that won't stop her from living her life as a woman, being seen as a woman by the world around her, and experiencing life as a woman for much of her reality. :michael:

I agree with most of what you said, however, this bit is kinda problematic because it’s semi-true and largely only the experience for girls that are passable.

Watch her interview in full. She was still supportive of trans women. She is right we will never be cis women...but thats the beauty of our experience. We are trans. As long as you respect my gender identity thats all I ask.

I as a trans woman though do not feel we have a seat at the table when it comes to womans reproductive rights or women issues pertaining to their body. I feel it is for ciswomen/and or trans men to decide. Those who are born biological women. All I can do is support and rally for what women want to do with their bodies.

As far as sports I dont think so either. Only way I think is if a trans women started hormones at like age 11 or something. But biology is still biology. I dont think macy is transphobic.

I don't do passive transphobia: a trasphobia big or small leads to the siphoning of rights in general.

She's not right at all actually; like most bigots she believes she has a qualifier to how strong an identity is and whether it can be valid or not. No one, in the history of any trans existence has claimed trans women as cis. That's literally the whole point of the "trans" that the person is NOT cis, so this dogwhistle of comparing a trans woman to a cis woman is already a dishonest framing, one bigots do ALWAYS. The way you dehumanize someone is by dismissing their humanity in relation to another; this is done by framing trans women as a separate and lesser existence than that of a cisgender woman. Whether intentional or not, she's doing the same dehumanizing behavior that nazis, racists, misogynists, homophobes and whatever other well known bigot group has done for YEARS. The road to genocide isn't done with grandeur, it's done with dehumanizing act after dehumanizing act; "they're different but I respect them, they just aren't LIKE ME"/"I'm fine with them being themselves SEPERATE from me(also known as "behind closed doors/where I can't see.)"

Macy couldn't tell you the first thing about female athletics or how the testing works much less the biological composition of a female athlete and how they differ and the arbitrary lines that we change over time that were different before and after segregation. Biologists have LONG, literally LONG since validated that trans women are women, this is just ignorant, unscientifically supported bigotry that is popularized by rightwingers and idiot centrists she's repeating. Women's sports has been no different with trans athletes than it was before it, matter of fact, women were seen as uninteresting unless they did tennis, gymnastics or volleyball as far as entertainment was concerned.

The macy grays of the world know nothing beyond their own bodies yet have dubbed themselves authorities in the name of victimhood, all without the proof to back it up, while ignoring the proof of their own harm committed by their murderous allies.

This one hurts. I have so many of her records, and this will definitely tarnish how I feel about her.

Disappointed. Also annoyed when people take a stance and end with "sorry".

Many LGBT supporters are actually only LGB supporters and are unfortunately very transphobic.

Who cares what this 1 era wonder thinks, she hasn’t even charted an album in a decade.

Extremely true. Some of the most transphobic people I’ve ever met have been cis gay men. A lot of trans people are waking up to it too like that trans queen from tik tok (forgot her name but she’s redhead) she pointed out that a lot of cis gay men are transphobic even the ones with trans friends. They’re just masters at deception and only show off their trans friends to appear “woke” on social media. They use trans women to fight their battles but then ghost them on normal brunch events. She also exposes how a lot of gay men in the porn industry are transphobic but keep it low down because they know being transphobic will hurt their pockets. It just seems like a lot of cis gay men are misogynistic towards cis women and trans women.

I think that's the issue with the rhetoric too, but I think we're also entering a stage where people are becoming more understanding of what a woman may look like and so trans women who don't fit this very specific aesthetic will more and more experience being seen as a woman by those around them. No matter how much reactionaries try to make people hate or not understand trans people, it is consistent that most Americans support anti-discromination laws in the workplace for trans people that include protecting them harassment from constant misgendering, etc. Whether one understands trans people, trans mem and women deserve to be affirmed as the gender they are in all essential spaces of life, be it in public minding their business or at their job making a living.

I don't think stating a fact should be considered controversial.

It's one thing to think this and say it privately, but to go on a show so your words can be used for anti-trans propaganda is disgusting.

i know her personally and shes the sweetest person ever. Im 100% she respects everyone, this is just her opinion and thats fine. I always find it crazy people demanding acceptance are not willing to give acceptance. Different people exist, we can all co exist by respecting each other. Also, people change.

This you, Macy? You’ll use the community for a check while harboring those abhorrent views. Won’t be the first or the last. TRASH.

There's even a lot of transphobia among the LGBT community so imagine how bad it can be for people outside of it.

So it’s fine for people to openly hate on trans people just because they say it’s their “opinion”? Well then in mine she’s a *****. This goes both ways. You get what you give. :michael:

No it’s not. You don’t get to have an “opinion” on somebody else’s identity and existence. Homophobia, transphobia and racism are not “opinions”.

Well there is way more to being a woman other than having female genitalia so she's not wrong on that aspect...

All I am reading is a bunch of sollioquies.

Yes we are women but not all are like the other. There are some trans women who do not even take HRT or get surgeries so biology still plays a part.

I dont think Macy is transphobic but she like many women due to roe vs wade especiallt values womanhood a lot right now so the outspoken to trans is expected because to some we are redefnifing them. Women feel under attack and undervalued. But do I think Macy wants trans rights taken away or would she misgender or be disrespectful. No. Just babbling.

I like the open diogue it is needed honestly. Many many many people feel the way Macy does even those in the lgbt.

She says she undestand the difference between biological sex and gender identity.

She said she will always respect peoples pronouns

She said if someone want to be called a woman than she will call them a woman.

So all in all. While it isnt full acceptance. All I ask of people in this world is to be tolerable. She has her opinion which is somewhat valid but she just, like many cis women still want their own identity solidified. They feel like they are being rewritten and not spoken for. So I think that's where much of the heat is being directed.
