Whats wrong with people who menstruate and people who produce sperm?

Answer my question. What’s wrong with “women and other menstruating people?”

If you can’t answer that simple question, there’s a huge problem here.

Chile it's still going on...:coffee2:

I am staying on the sidelines on this one because I am ignorant on the details but familiar overall to this topic which is why I'll stay quiet and review because I did not know alot of what was going on and did not think it would turn into this:psyduck:

It's turning into this because people aren't following your example of staying on the sidelines and reviewing when they are ignorant on the details.

YOU introduced the problem, the burden of proof is one you, not them.

Because you're most likely not a medical professional

You actually kind of do (or at least have ANY kind of knowledge of women's health/OB/GYN/reproductive health) because there are specific reasons why medical professionals use those terms because they don't just serve cis women, you transphobic buffoon :rip:

You are very good at name calling, Headlock. I’d report you but your words are so insignificant to me I don’t really see the point.

Also, no medical professional as of yet has called my mother anything other than the woman she is, thankfully. I don’t know what medical professionals you’re referring to but I promise you that they are few and far in between.

Incredible.

We have two people here who can’t explain what’s wrong with the phrase “woman and other menstruating people?” and yet they expect us to go along with the erasure of the word woman. Not in a million lifetimes.

Thank you for admitting this isn't actually an issue to you or your family even though you've been clutching your pearls for pages :deadbanana4: :deadbanana4:

It's almost as if you seep into any thread involving trans issues to spout off your reactionary TERF talking points that don't actually hold any salt in the real world because they are made up straw man issues, because you are simply transphobic :deadbanana4:

You didn't answer mine either? And to answer your question, it's simple because medical professionals don't just service cis people so why would they only make a distinction for cis people? And making that distinction comes in bad faith. And furthermore, the word women encompasses transwomen and the word men encompasses trans men. When they're talking about people who menstruate or people with prostate, they aren't just talking about ciswomen and cismen. It's not that difficult to understand why medical and science field would adopt such a language, unless you're a transphobe.

That's not how this works, TERF.

They are. It really is just that simple, unfortunately.

Wow. Some of you really do want to erase the word woman from the medical field. That is absolutely terrifying to me.

@khalyan And this is why your reasonable compromise simply doesn’t work here. I agree that “women and…” would be a nice compromise and be better than just completely erasing the word woman, but some people simply do not want to compromise. Where do you go from there?

 reasonable compromise

The fact that these sentences are in the same post :rip:

In order to come to a reasonable compromise, both parties need to be, you know, reasonable, not TERF chicken little running around claiming a word is being erased from the English language :rip:

Woman would describes both cis and trans women and not all trans or cis women menstruate.

I don't know why you keep erasing the word cis though if you're talking about erasure.

If you wanted to include the word woman, you'd have to include cis to make the term medically accurate. Yet I don't see you suggest that. Are you adverse to the phrase "cis women, trans men and all others who menstruate"? Surely you'd have no issue with that since the word woman is used, right?

I think me agreeing to use the phrase “women and other menstruating people” is a reasonable compromise.

If you're seriously saying to me that I must completely stop using the word woman in any medical context and replace it with “menstruating people” and other similar phrases; and that if I do not do so I’m a TERF and a transphobic buffoon, I think that is extremist and absurd.

I have absolutely no problem with the term “cis-woman”. I’m a cis-man.

So we can settle on “cis women and other people who menstruate”, then?

There is really no point in trying to have a honest discussion, its always leads to name calling or emotional manipulation. :rip:

No, I’m fine with that.

So we can all agree on “cis women, trans men and all others who menstruate” then?

Are we all happy with that?

Sure, I don’t care. Neither one is an inaccurate term, nor are they being used with malicious intent.

Why is this acceptable to you but not "people who menstruate"? Why do you find issue with this when you have already admitted you and your family have never been affected by it?

Would you be okay with "trans men, non-binary individuals, and cis women and all others who menstruate, except for post-menopausal cis women, some cis-women and trans men on birth control, individuals with endocrine disorders that interfere with menstruation, and those with hysterectomies"?

If you really want to be pedantic, let's ******* go for it.
