Pete Buttigieg is so out of his league. The Democratic Party is in trouble if they think Pete and Kamala can carry the party into the future. It’s progressive or bust at this point.

What an insult to "countries around the world" omg :biblio: everyone had to laugh

Pete is TERRIBLE at his transportation position, can he be replaced already?

And the gag is that both of them were pretending to be progressive in the beginning of the 2019/2020 Primary

(Pete saying [paraphrased] "Republicans are gonna call us socialists no matter what so let's go all out instead of trying to be Republican-lite [aka like Biden]" in the beginning of the Primary was like the one time he made points)

AND THIS :clownny:

That whole primary was such a farce. It was all about knocking Bernie out, but none of the new “progressive” candidates connected with voters, and are all being rejected now anyway, even with the positions they scored in exchange for dropping out and endorsing Biden.

The US has horrendous public transit, and he really should know better given how well-traveled he is.

He's a better writer and theorist than he is a politician.

This is why people think the left hates America. They just wanna be more like the rest regardless of how much sense it makes.

Cargo:

The US was blessed with the Mississippi River system which is the greatest natural transit system in the world. We have more navigable rivers than the rest of the world combined which means the cost of moving products in the US is much cheaper than anywhere else in the world. The rest of the world has such extensive railway system because they wish they had our navigable rivers.

Quote

Cost comparisons based on mega-container ships ($0.80 per nautical mile) interlining with railways ($2.50 per mile) and inland waterways ($1.20)

People:

Americans do not want to lower their standard of living by dropping their SUV so that they can start living underground like vampires, in dirty metro stations with thousands of strangers in the age of COVID. :rip:

Public transit doesn't make sense in the US because our cities & country is so much larger & our energy cost is so much cheaper than Europe & Asia.

Plane is so much more effective than train for the typical distance between US cities. Train makes sense in a much more densely populated Europe.

There is a reason why after 2 decade, the most progressive state and richest state in the country still can't finish its high speed rail-line between San Francisco & Los Angeles. It makes no economic sense when Cali has some of the greatest port in the world for the cargos & the plane is both cheaper & faster than the train for the people (including the expected high speed train) . :rip:

This nasty rat faced incompetent leader ass ***** better not think about running once Biden is done. Also the gays better not rally behind him again solely because he’s gay, and actually look at his horrible track record as a public representative since he couldn’t even successfully be the mayor of a small town.

I would like a decent public transportation system. It doesn’t have to be underground?? This is such a weird talking point, and pandemics are not eternal…

....this post exactly is why EVERYBODY hates America LMAO.

Sipping on some hard ass copium about how public transport is not feasable in the US (even though every major city in North America literally had functioning, good public transport, until Big Car lobbied to abolish public transport to make room for more cars in the 1940s because MONEY) :rip:

The fact that.... you can't even put 1 + 1 together and realize that American cities are so spread out BECAUSE of cars. They didn't naturally grow that way, they were DESIGNED to only make them accesible via cars. :deadbanana2:

Also nobody f*cking cares about your rivers, y'all don't even use them anymore yourselves :bibliahh:

These are all terrible reasons to justify not investing in public transportation. Not everyone has or wants to use a car. Other feasible alternatives (that aren’t Uber) should exist. The fact that New York is the only city in the country with a decent public transportation system is embarrassing.

Regardless, the idea that another country would want to take any tips from the US regarding public transit and/or urban planning is laughable.

Who had a meeting and thought this plan was a good idea and went ahead and executed it? :toofunny2: One of US' biggest state has tried and continues to fail to meet deadlines for a train system. It's been in the works since last century. Please. :rip:

Also not some of you thinking "oh we have flights, cheaper and faster" when Europe has infamous €5 flights. That argument + the "nasty underground metro stations"??? Maybe you've confused a major European city to New York.

and Pete had a considerable amount of gay support when he started running, but once he got exposed for being terrible, it fell :oh:. The people now know better

It’s a multi-lateral information sharing program between a bunch of countries with various transport needs, from Japan to India to Kenya to Mexico :rip: this is a non-issue
