BGKC Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Sweet Dreams I honestly expected tainted love to be up there too.
RihFenty20 Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Cyndi Lauper really came out the gate SWINGING. Two remembered classics back to back.

True Colors is also killing it by her. It will cross 200 million soon. Shes an 80s staple and her hits hold up much better than a lot of her contemporaries
Gov Hooka Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Why do these all feel low??? Janet deserves better :/
Mohit Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 no madonna in top 22.. just goes on to show that 80s and 90s pop star who were at the top were all media driven.. while true talents like cyndi lauper are slaying the streaming charts decades later
Jynx Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Legendary top 20. Whitney, Cyndi & Dolly. Kate Bush will be storming up the rankings. Also, Whitney with the highest solo song, 800m+ that's more than some artist's songs combined.
bliaz Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 All those classics They don't make them like they used to
Luckitty Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 cyndi + some songs you missed All Around The World (Lisa Stansfield) - 83M Don't You Want Me (The Human League) - 328M Funkytown (Lipps Inc.) - 273M+ *the album was released in 1979 but it wasn't made a single until 1980 so i'm not sure if it counts*
Arcadius Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 The way RUTH will probably end up top 3 or 5 when its all said and done.

Solaria Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Madonna 8 songs in the top 100, that's what happens when you have a timeless catalogue and don't just rely on 1 or 2 big hits
KatyPrismSpirit Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 This made me realize Madonna doesnt really have a mega BIG classic hit like whitney has i will always love you and i wanna dance with somebody, celine dion has my heart will go on. why does madonna not have that

Not to mention Madonna's last #1 came after Whitney and Celine's last #1.

naval23 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Whitney Technically the highest female solo single of the 80s wow
MichaelW Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 (edited) Congrats to Cher She was 43 when If I Could Turn Back Time was released in 1989 Edited July 3, 2022 by MichaelW
