Nah James Bond is good for a lot of reasons lemme tell you:

 

-Tons of work and effort put into stunts and set pieces. Mostly practical work and not CGI which is exceedingly rare

-The locations are always amazing and there's always multiple exotic ones per movie

-Even the opening credits and song/score for each movie are huge labors of love

-James Bond is a gay icon, yes he is. Masculinity in these movies isnt being a sweaty, beefy, aggressive Rambo type. Masculinity is being well dressed, well traveled, suave, fluent in another language and enjoying the finer things in life. He might be a straight cis male but James Bond is a gay legend.

 

Plus, Bond is not really dated because the movies just follow whats trendy. When Star Wars blew up in the 70's, Roger Moore went to outer space. When The Bourne movies were popular and audiences wanted edge, out came Casino Royale.

 

So yeah Bond has lasted for reasons far beyond dads. Hope they choose an actually good candidate for the next movie.

Uhm Idris could film like 2 Bond movies max before getting replaced. Daniel started the first one when he was 38 and ppl already complained that he was too old for the role
