Was Teenage Dream (album) a cultural reset?

The album and singles were hugely successful but that doesn't make the era a cultural reset? What did it reset exactly? It was just an excellent era within the boundaries of pop culture.

Yes, it’s a timeless album, that still get consumed after 10 years of its release.

No. It’s remembered but it distinctly lacked cultural impact.

No. The singles were hits but what did it reset? Katy didn't set any trends or do anything special really. She had no notable copycats and what big new gen star calls Katy an influence? Also Max Martin was already responsible for countless #1 hits before TD so the narrative she "elevated" him is just...:rip:

No way. A cultural reset should have a ripple effect. It was a product of its time & didn’t influence other artists. It didn’t buck trends or tackle any ideas that weren’t already dominant in pop. It was business as usual. It’s a good album but it’s par for the course & hardly a masterpiece

YES nobody would come close to queen Katy at the time.

She was dominating and destroying the competition, the ultimate forgotten IT girl

It is a staple on early 2010s pop but a cultural reset it was not

No, it wasn't, because it had virtually no impact due to Katy having no impact. It didn't really inspire other people to follow her lead since her lead was so heavily manufactured. It's an amazing album and a couple of songs are pop staples, but that's where it begins and ends. If the album had been a cultural reset, she wouldn't be in the position she is today.

Prob true

doo wow and hooligans is the more remembered 2010 album :clap3:
