Facelift was one of the most disturbing episodes of AHS overall. The best episode this season, easily.

Tbh and what makes it more disturbing is that **** like this could really be happening in some cult :deadbanana4:

I feel this episode (BM) was too good to just be an episode in an anthology show. It should have been it's own stand alone film. Longer of course

The ending was stupid. The last four episodes have had an unhappy ending where the bad guy wins. Can they come up with something else?

While technically a good episode,  I thought it was very cruel and just felt bad for Virginia the whole time:cries:

Judith Light is a queen and it was great to see Britt Lower again especially soon after Severance. Facelift just basically reminded me of the reverse of the Eye Of The Beholder Twilight Zone episode.

That’s what horror is. Unhappy ending or evil winning.

Yeah but this show has set a precedent for using horror genre as an allegory while still adhering to basic morality and structure of what a viewer generally wants to see from the entertainment industry. Even though there may be a bittersweet type of ending in previous seasons, the big bads usually see some kind of consequences to their actions and moral balance is restored in tying up the story. However this season (and last season to an extent) of Stories, and Double Feature’s two endings, have all been way too unhappy, to the point that it almost feels unresolved / poorly wrapped up. It gets to a point that it feels uncreative and uninteresting / predictable what’s going to happen.

Episode 1 was happy ending. The witch was saved and bad guys paid the consequence

Episode 2 ended on good note. All that girl needs to do was get rid of Aura, and her husband paid for his deeds

3,4,5 and 6 ended with sad ending. I am honestly fine with this ratio, if good guys were winning most of the time, it would be hard to be on edge of seats for these characters, especially considering lukewarm writing and they get 45 minutes for us to feel for these characters

Facelift was a bit too predictable with the beautiful ppl being a cult and needing a ritual, saw that coming as soon as they arrived to the resort.

Bloody Mary remains the best episode so far.

Wow facelift was fantastic. This show saved all the good stuff for season 2. I was so excited to see her glow up instead I'm traumatized for life ?

Just seen Bloody Mary and Facelift and they were great :jonny6:

the endings sucked but Rebecca dayan Judith light and Dominique Jackson made up for the nonsense.

Wow what a great episode. I would've loved a whole cult 2.0 season based off that episode.

Facelift was very good. So far Season 2 has been a major improvement from the **** that was s1 :clap3:

lord how did they get Judith Light to play this. she was EATING from the first scene to the end :jonny5:

Facelift was crazy and engaging, but that ending was a choice. i don’t get the point, but also feel like there needs to be more episodes of it.

Blood Mary on the other hand was a great story. they really redeemed this season with these episodes.

i mean, i get it. AHS has always been good vs evil and the balance of things, even though AHStories side of things is a bit more predictable and there’s just a short time to pack a story. there’s not really a lot of space for redemption or resolve complex characters.

i mainly felt bad for Virginia because she’s played by the magnificent Judith, but really, she was given a chance to back out so many times and yet she proceeded :rip: it’s even moreso stupid to just get the advice from that girlie she used to know who seems to be a total *****. so desperate even if red flags were everywhere, but yes i get that Virginia is a little fragile so i pity her for not loving herself.

but like said, this is still the horror genre and this episode is full of tropes. one being that if you’re dumb, you end up dead :supaspaz:

Definitely better. Also you missed the best two episodes of Season 1, “Ba’al” and “Feral”.

I saw what was coming in facelift with the whole bandages thing, but regardless this is easily the best episode this season and Judith Light is so good. :clap3:

Facelift was ******* disturbing and amazing, wish the ending was a little stronger but hey its a Ryan Murphy production.

Milkmaids and aura are also great :rip: they really bounced back from the awful first season

I hope Necro and Lake are just as great!!:jonny5:

Facelift=Aura>BloodyMary=Milkmaids>Dollhouse>Drive

So far, I think my ranking for Season 2 would be:

Dollhouse > Aura > Drive > Facelift > Bloody Mary > Milkmaids

I love the concept of Milkmaids and Facelift (this gets a special shoutout for the great performances), but I just thought the endings were so rushed and terrible that it tainted the whole episode in retrospect. In general, I just thought Bloody Mary was a bad episode with bad effects and a terrible plot / ending. The only redeeming aspects of Bloody Mary for me was just the intriguing change to the mythos and allowing POC actresses to shine in a predominantly white-centric series.

That was a creepy love story!:skull:

Now THAT was how you do a stories episode. 10/10 ?
