slik Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I feel like the theme of every AHStories episode this season is 'person A is not who you thought they were revealed in the last 5 minutes of the episode"

stjosephprey4us Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 That was truly a mess. IDK what they were thinking (I'm sorry Idk how to do spoiler tags on here anymore). Like I would venture to say plot line wise this was worse than Horror Stories season 1 and the main show season 10. it just made no sense, every time I thought it was going to have some coherency it switched. stylistically it was fantastic, obviously, and I guess I will give them props for giving us singlehandedly the most disgusting before title sequence I've ever seen on this show (and possibly ever on TV). However, I'm not keen on watching this show for style over substance
slik Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 I did not care for 'Milkmaids' It's an original story -- I just didn't care for the story. It's big on Body Horror to give everyone a heads up as well. It will definitely be a 'love it or hate it' episode for AHS fans.
drivers license Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 what happened with spoiler tags i guess in typical Ryan Murphy fashion, this season is now going downhill
FameFatale Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Not me deciding to watch the new episode during my LUNCH break
publikcitizen Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 it was a boring episode tbh. the setting and concept was cool, but the plot was boring. cody fern was wasted in this episode sadly.
Hurem Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Milkmaids was my least favorite episode so far. It started out strong and got me intrigued, but at the end... I just didn't care? Like, that kid that was suddenly evil or whatnot? Meh. I also had my dinner while watching this and lemme just say I was not hungry all of a sudden

I also had my dinner while watching this and lemme just say I was not hungry all of a sudden why were all of us eating? i literally just poured cereal and the first scene caught me off guard Cody was wasted on this episode. i haven't even finished it, i ended up just fast forwarding to get through and it was boring?? even the setting is wasted because it's rare in AHS to be set in this time period and i thought it was going to be interesting.
stjosephprey4us Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Looking back it wasn’t that bad. I think it was trying to make a commentary on how putting religion over science ruins society. Like at the end all the main characters were dead and the only ones left were the boy who was listening to everything the pastor said (even to the point of killing his own mother) and the townspeople who were digging up graves and eating hearts of their loved ones in the name of God/ religion. The milkmaid who believed in science was trying to save everyone, and now many more people will die because the boy killed the only one who knew about the real cure. That’s the horror story. The only thing I didn’t understand was, with the boy being named Edward, was this supposed to be Edward Mott’s (from Roanoke) backstory? Do the dates line up?
Dylangaga Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Milkmaids was really good! Aura>Milkmaids>Dollhouse>Drive
Chromatica Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Literally nothing AHS about ep 3 and 4 ep 4 was like the monthly life of crazy religious villages back then
Hector Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 The way this episode was so weirdly timely with the monkeypox outbreak This episode had an interesting concept but didn't like the ending. Celeste & Delilah deserved a happy finale.
Companion Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 (edited) The downhill after each episode. Not they had us in the first 2 episode thinking this season gonna be better than the first Since we are halfway through the show I wanted list my fave episodes compared to first season. Rubber Woman Pt1 / Dollhouse Rubber Woman Pt2 / Aura Drive In / Drive The Naughty List / Milkmaids It is going 50/50 rn but I don't think they will surpass the Ba'al and Feral so season 1 will be the winner in the end I fear. Sonny Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 The way all 4 episodes have been good, we love to see it. I do kinda understand now why everyone's complaining about the endings, every episode ends so goddamn dark.
Jack! Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 I'm really surprised at the reactions in here, I think this is my favourite of the series so far. It's a bit mismatched but it was very topical given the religion vs. science subject and I personally took it as a metaphor to covid. The milkmaids were outcast by the religious community but they in the end had the answers. Kind of like how science has a lot of answers to things but a lot of religious people choose to turn a blind eye. I guess it can be interpreted in a lot of ways. IDK, maybe I'm on my own with this one but I kinda thought this singular episode has been the best showcase of Ryan's capabilities in a long time. Reminded me of classic AHS.
Hurem Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 My ranking is literally the order of airing Dollhouse > Aura > Drive > Milkmaids
Serendipity Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Not me eating my dinner and watching this Hell to the nah
xrosup Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Not me also eating dinner when I was watching Milkmaids The episode was bad, the quality of this season is going down

Edward Jenner is who discovered the cure for smallpox. Maybe thats the connection? Idk
