Almodusa Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 Came out from my showing a while ago, ah loved seeing them go at it Spoiler Oh queen Mothra how glorious it was to see you again Definitely the campiest
Dark Phoenix Posted March 31 Posted March 31 WB is winning this year! I was not going to see this one because the last one was dumb and pointless but after reading that it's more fun and campy that GvK then I might see it.
UnderratedVocalist Posted March 31 Posted March 31 How did they go from the CGI of the previous movies to... that? The monster designs were laughable. The way they moved like humans, Godzilla running and pulling WWE moves Probably the worst entry in the franchise.
Almodusa Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 Outdoing Dune 2's worldwide opening yes Godzilla yes success 2
nathanspears Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I enjoyed the first three Godzilla films but this one... I'm not sure

This one looked a lot better than Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla: King of the monsters which were all blurry and in bad weather to save on CGI cost
ctlp27 Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Look I'm a big fan of the franchise but very disappointed with this one. I get the vision aesthetically but it's such a departure of past Godzilla movie that it barely feels like it fits the timeline (even the Apple TV+ looks better lol). Hollow earth reveals to be quite boring and full of deja vu vibe (Lost World, etc.), the big villain seems to me like the weakest we had so far (though he has a cool vibe) and is being crushed in 10 minutes. I liked the Kong storyline but Godzilla felt like very supporting in his own movie. Will not talk about the video game CGI 80 % of the time, blurry surroundings when real actors are here and the whole running Godzilla. Proportions are even worst than in the past, half of the time. Too much humour that defuse any sense of danger. Again, compare with the first one and it's hard to think they are in the same world. What a let down... success is very surprising tbh.
barbiegrande Posted April 4 Posted April 4 (edited) I can't believe this over budget Saturday morning cartoon opened higher than Dune 2. Im part of the problem though because my friends duped me into thinking it would be fun at least. Edited April 4 by barbiegrande
Better Mistakes Posted April 5 Posted April 5 why can I see one of the monsters being a gay icon Kong is a bit of a muscle daddy too… This was a much better film than whatever the last one was. I preferred Godzilla Minus-One however, but also understand and appreciate the two films were going for different things
Almodusa Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 $522m now, on a $135-$150m budget. The MonsterVerse has now made it to around $2.5 billion.
