It’ll be her first major label release since 2015, after dropping “Beauty Marks” independently in 2019.

New single “Jump” announced for July 8th.

Level Up went platinum independently so I’m sure she’ll be okay

Plus Taylor has been very supportive of Ciara. I remember she's promoted her past projects a few times. But this is me wishing they collab. :jonnycat:

I will never get why everybody just acts like a parrot and says 'x is an awful label'

Every label has a chance to be good and every label has a chance to be bad.

Warner has been an amazing label for Dua, but an awful one for Bebe Rexha overall

Interscope was horrible for Nicole Scherzinger but did amazing things for Gaga

etc. etc.

We need another Body Party :jonny:

We said this about Kim Petras and we all know what Republic did to her career.

Hopefully Ciara’s fate isn’t similar

She will make a comeback á la J-Lo On The Floor I fear :jonny5:

The label only supports the artists when they become successful, not the other way around.

If Ciara keeps flopping like she has been her past few eras you can kiss any hope of a new album goodbye

she came from epic records and being indie. this is an upgrade no matter how you look at it.

Let’s hope her songs go mega viral on TikTok then, otherwise the “upgrade” you’re sure of won’t be the case :rip:

I'm glad she's not independent anymore.

I hope they give her the care she deserves.

That is basically what most if not all labels do.

We don't know the insights of her deal, it is named a partnership with her own imprint/company which puts her in more control than a lot of the artists that Republic might have stopped funding.

luv this is straight up not true and you know it. the era will flop, but Ciara will make her coins and get the album out with creative control as usual. you want me to bump this thread when it happens?

What I love about this deal is that its still in conjunction with her own label Beauty Marks Entertainment, so she's still have the creative control and heavy input on what goes into her releases and also when they can be released. She pushes the buttons more with this deal instead of some executive that is out of touch with her artistry. This is BIG and in a way setting the tone for future independent artists to mimic and follow.

Agreed

Ciara's situation seems much closer to JoJo's current situation where Atlantic handles certain aspects, and also doesn't fund everything but in return she gets a lot more creative freedom and is in charge of a lot of things because her record deal is also a partnership with Atlantic and she is in charge of said imprint.

I think a lot of people who are screaming in this thread don;t take that into consideration. She is not an empoyee like a lot of acts are, she is basicaly as much as a business partner as she is a popstar/artist in this deal

Other notable artists under Republic or their umbrellas:

Taylor Swift

Ariana Grande

Nicki Minaj (Young Money)

Tyga

Kid Kudi

Florence and The Machine

Drake (Ovo)

Record label success is subjective and very unpredictable. For all we know she can be back to where she was with "Goodies/The Evolution" days or she can maintain the same moderately successful eras where she gets a platinum hit every album. Either way she has the proper backing to really plug herself into the masses versus as an independent artist and in this case she's getting the best of both worlds.
