Jotham Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Yes. I can't stand people who are so impatient and pushy towards servers and waiters. I had a friend in middle school who was like that and I always felt so embarrassed to eat at a restaurant with them.
bad guy Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 I've always been and I haven't ever worked in food service. I was just raised to have courtesy for servers, and that the world doesn't revolve around me. I also kinda think the waiting for food convos are the best.
Mr.Link Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Depends, if the waiter is actively trying to be nice and attentive I can be patient. If they just blatantly ignore you for hours and refuse to be polite I will not have it and ask for the bill (with no tip).
Bears01 Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Absolutely, 1000%. Worked in the food service industry for a year and a half, I understand how it goes. It’s only justifiable to be upset with them though if you’ve been sitting for like 20-30 minutes and nobody has came up and said a word to you to even get you a water or anything, that’s just straight up unprofessional (it’s happened to me once, and the restaurant was DEAD)
Fanta Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Yes I always make sure to be as polite and as patient as I can. I worked in food service for years so I know the struggle & I also know how much BS they deal with from customers daily. I would really hate to add to that BS.
kandicha Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 I've always been patient with my food servers, but I tip more generously now because of COVID and the toll that it took on restaurants.
Cyanide Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Yes this is gross, and I find that it’s the broke people with no business eating out that act the worst. You’re more likely to find some random Sheila acting up in TGI Fridays than anyone in an upscale restaurant
katara Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 12 hours ago, harwee said: Of course. I want my meals served unspat !!! Having worked in a restaurant as a barkeeper I can assure you that my colleagues spat in any *******'s food or drinks
Robert Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 If they gave me something wrong I would politely ask them to change it but I’m patient and understanding and was pre-pandemic too as everyone should. It’s a tough job.
Gesamtkunstwerk Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Yes, I worked as such myself, and I know how it can be. People getting mad for nothing is the worst.
EdgeofTeeth Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Always, and especially after being a server myself. And I usually tip 25% because that's literally their livelihood, and the **** that these people have to deal with unwarranted is insane.
Exquisite Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 (edited) Yes, I find that if you are respectful to service workers when they **** up they're more likely to resolve the issue in a quick and helpful manner Tipping isn't really a thing where I live Edited June 29, 2022 by Exquisite
Alldeezy Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Yes, however If they get my order wrong im too shy to speak up
