Cornyn is one of the two Senators from Texas, along with Ted Cruz.

He should be immediately removed from office and forced to resign in disgrace.

Sadly, that won't happen.

a sitting US Senator actively calling for the legalization of segregation, including a return to precedent from 126 years ago

He’s supposed to be Texas’s more moderate Senator in comparison to Cruz too :skull:

His (dumb) argument is that if Plessy can be overturned then Roe should be able to be overturned too, not that he wants to overturn Brown v. Board

Explain. What is Brown v Board

Racial segregation. Supreme Court ruled it was in violation of the Constitution.

He knew what he was tweeting and how it would be taken.

The GOP should be disbanded at this point.

This probably was his argument but there are so many other ways he could have presented the argument instead of this ambiguous mess

I get his argument now, he's responding to this tweet:

So basically what he means is how Brown vs. Board rightfully overturned Plessy decades later, so can and should this occur with abortion. He's saying Obama's logic does not fit bc you can rightfully overturn things way later, and that's true.

What's not true is this is a civil liberty that's being overturned, rather than adding to civil liberty or fairness. The last ruling is an act of regression, not progression.

Not necessarily, this week's overturning resulted in millions of women losing control over their own body.

My jaw was on the damn ground until I realized what he meant. :skull: The way he worded this is just terrible.

Well said, but he could easily mean the opposite at this point.

We all know that if the GOP could get away with reinstating racial segregation, they would absolutely do it

School segregation, it was another 10 years before public segregation was struck down.
