slik Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 He should be immediately removed from office and forced to resign in disgrace. Sadly, that won't happen.
Cruel Summer Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 a sitting US Senator actively calling for the legalization of segregation, including a return to precedent from 126 years ago

Rotunda Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 His (dumb) argument is that if Plessy can be overturned then Roe should be able to be overturned too, not that he wants to overturn Brown v. Board

slik Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 He knew what he was tweeting and how it would be taken. The GOP should be disbanded at this point.

gustavothehuman Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 (edited) We should normalize b wording racists at the stake to be honest. What a disgraceful man. Edited June 25, 2022 by gustavothehuman
Freakshowvato Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 I get his argument now, he's responding to this tweet: So basically what he means is how Brown vs. Board rightfully overturned Plessy decades later, so can and should this occur with abortion. He's saying Obama's logic does not fit bc you can rightfully overturn things way later, and that's true. What's not true is this is a civil liberty that's being overturned, rather than adding to civil liberty or fairness. The last ruling is an act of regression, not progression.
Material Girl Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 that wasn’t what he was saying brown overturned the precedent plessy set. he’s arguing that it’s good to overturn precedents

gustavothehuman Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Just now, Material Girl said: that wasn’t what he was saying brown overturned the precedent plessy set. he’s arguing that it’s good to overturn precedents Not necessarily, this week's overturning resulted in millions of women losing control over their own body.
Kylizzle Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 My jaw was on the damn ground until I realized what he meant. The way he worded this is just terrible.

Well said, but he could easily mean the opposite at this point.
TaggedGalaxy Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 We all know that if the GOP could get away with reinstating racial segregation, they would absolutely do it
