discussion Do you forgive or do you hold grudges?

I used to hold grudges when I was WAY younger like from early teens to late teens....

 

But as I got older I thought why should I stay upset about things from the past? Like what is that going to get me?

 

Even if I personally don't forgive someone for doing something really dirty, I just choose to personally let it go.

 

I feel like if I dwell on it, it's not going to show any personal growth and it's just going to put me back in the same position years ago.

I'm extremely forgiving. I've let go of people doing horrible **** to me, to the point where I know it's not healthy

bit of both actually. like ill forgive you but if you really me in the past thats always gonna leave a scar.

I don’t have to forgive somebody in order to ‘let it go’.
I understand that mentality but it’s not mine.

I acknowledge that you’re somebody I don’t want in my space, you’re unwelcome in it now and that’s all.

i will go to extremes to get my revenge and make sure to turn the tables around even if it costs me my mental/overall health

 

but after that my brain instantly forgives and forgets...i can even become besties with said person

I’m very forgiving when it comes to friends and everyone else but when it comes to being hurt in romantic situations I get really affected and I usually can “forgive” them but likely won’t want to be in contact with them anymore.
