I just proved u wrong by pointing out that they actually are bigger than ALL of the pop girls except just 3

No it's not? Otherwise I would have said "they aren't bigger than a single pop girl" if that's what I meant Their last album tanked and Origins was an underperformance after Evolve, you are the one who seems not to accept it.

Wyvern Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Exposes like these only hold meaning if the act in question makes being "indie" or self-made" a significant part of their brand. ID is as commercial as it gets, aren't they?
arceus Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 It's always that type of gays who gets jealous and triggered by literally anything

I guess the entire music industry is built on no talent then. Just because you don’t like their music doesn’t diminish their talent you freak. Dan Reynolds is an extremely versatile vocalist.

ID is as commercial as it gets, aren't they? They started off like a lot of bands. They got together during college and started creating music together. After a few years of them playing small gigs and self releasing music, they landed a major record deal and the rest is history as their singles “It’s Time” and “Radioactive” put them on the map and kept them there. I don’t see their origins as any different than bands like Evanescence or Nirvana. The way this guy in the TikTok video is acting like they got to where they are because of Dans dad just isn’t factual. They put in the work and it paid off.

ID is as commercial as it gets, aren't they? Ehhh at the very start they were low key trying to pass off as an indie type band with “It’s Time”. It fit into the sound of the indie folk and alt explosion of 2011-2013 alongside Mumford & Sons, Foster the People, Of Monsters and Men, Lumineers etc all of whom had more humble origins and more “cred” so to speak. But then once they had that hit they went full Linkin Park with the next singles.
Freakshowvato Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 So basically they were lucky and at the right place at the right time, probably because of a few entertainment industry connections. Also that 5K is split upon 5 people, that's not a lot therefore I feel like this Tiktok was unnecessary
St. Charles Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 This video isn't bashing or diminishing anything about Imagine Dragons. He's pointing out to independent musicians that they shouldn't be hard on themselves by comparing their success to the "self-made" stories of people in the music industry, as they are often misrepresented to give 'street cred' to the artist in question.

prézli Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I hate TikTok because creators are forced to make short videos which are ANNOYING.
