I don't see it happening in the near future, but I think the only real solution long term is for the US to break up into several smaller countries. The federal government is just too poorly structured and corrupted to function well enough to prevent a slide into right wing fascism at this point.

It's a two-edged sword. Fundamental human rights also came from religion. Religion destroys but it's developed mainly to build communities. Also you're wrong about religion killing the most people. The greatest killer is science since like religion it's also a double-edged sword. If you're going to attribute the atrocities of religious societies to religion, then the same can be said about science. Nazism & communism had nothing to do with religion and they're the most destructive ideologies ever conceived. Guess what? They're based on science.

The US is a failed state. A new constitution has to be written. Abolish the electorate college at the very minimum

The countries US exploited should do the same thing to them, to bring "order, peace, liberty and democracy" like they did to them
