I've had civil debates on gay rights and abortion on this site. You can have an opposing view without being nasty and coming from a place of hate and vitriol. What isn't allowed are certain things that simply go beyond the pale. If you have a problem expressing yourself, you need to look at how you're saying it.

I got banned for 48 hours for stating that i'm glad to hear that 100% of people of color around the world have running water AND soap. (Which is a thing no "race" has.)

Are you still this upset because you got one ZTP for comparing trans women to gorillas when discussing trans athletes? Plenty of people were able to get their point across, in the exact same thread, without resorting to ugly, transphobic rhetoric to degrade the humanity of trans people. If we were as "censorious" as you claim, we would have just outright permanent banned you. We wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt that you were simply that ignorant to the obvious transphobic history of that comparison. That grace is why you're still here and why our policy on the ZTP is as lenient as it is. I wouldn't abuse it. Thanks.

While racism is prevalent in society, outright saying that one race is superior to others is literally a fringe belief that almost nobody holds. Why couldn't you explain that history to me then, instead of outright banning me for three months? Jeez

 

By the way, I didn't even mean it in a derogatory way. I am legitimately trying to be as respectful as possible on here because I know how sensitive everyone is. I used that comparison because it didn't leave any room for misunderstanding in my argument; as far as I know there is no stereotype about gorillas and trans people. And yet my intentions didn't even matter. This site really does make me grateful that free speech is allowed in other places because wow....and before you all come here saying "oH wElL yOu cAn leAve tHe SiTe iF yOu wAnT" why don't you look at the topic of this thread discussion
