No, absolute free speech doesn't exist anywhere, not even in the real world in any country on Earth.

 

I do wish ATRL was a bit less strict with swear words and explicit content, but for the most part the moderation here is pretty good. If anything, some of y'all get away with way too much  Anonymous unmoderated platforms turn into cesspools very quickly. Without moderation this forum would become 4chan'd mess where a few people would post the most vile sh*t that comes to their mind and everyone else would be forced to leave. 

 

I guess moderation is bad for you if you are trying to be edgy for the sake of it and just sh*tpost, but most of us are grown and come here to have discussions or for a quick laugh, we don't need to be exposed to your racist jokes or whatever else you complain you can't say here.

I always find it interesting when people say vague stuff like this to make it look like they are victimised for not liking chocolate ice cream, when in reality you get ZTP for saying racist/homophobic/transphobic/etc. things. There are no real consequences for ATRL users for saying stupid things on a pop music forum because it is not publicly linked to their real name.  If you want real free speech, be ready to post a link to your LinkedIn profile, Fb profile, add a photo, and add your real name.  This forum would die overnight because the scummy people on here who have CoNtRoVeRsIaL things to say would NEVER speak like that in a place where they can be held publicly accountable.

 

That's why we have censorship and moderators.  It allows the random anonymous discussions on here to continue without it crossing over into your public life, and the moderators and rules we are asked to follow are there to keep those who break such rules in check, or remove them from the forum permanently.  We are owed *nothing* from these sites, they are private and you agree to follow rules in order to sign-up.  If you don't like that, go elsewhere.

Girl what's even worse is that I got a 7 day ban for telling someone to stfu cause they were using a domestic abuse experience of their friend's family member to discredit another victim of abuse. I'm sure that user's friend's third cousin is still recovering from my comment

The idea that race is biologically real - let alone so heritable as a trait that one's race determines something like their intelligence (for which IQ tries to measure and itself over the decades deemed an unscientific measurement) - has literally been debunked by scientists and social researches since the concept was first floated decades ago.

 

I mentioned it explicitly because it is such a longly-debunked concept that it only is a prominent topic of debate amongst cranks and open white supremacists who would argue race and intelligence is connected. 

 

That you would so eagerly jump to argue it's an interesting and inoffensive debate shows that maybe your ideas about free speech maybe aren't the best ones to follow. Maybe Quilette or 4chan will be more open to it.

It was just a question. But would you say the same if the coutries with the highest IQ was not Western Coutries ? No ! You would be like "White people are dumb yaaassss" and some **** like that.
