Drag Race Down Under | Season Four | Doubling Down

I don't understand Kweens and Minnies set...I thought it would be a back and forth to show the generational gap and have a discussion about white privilege? Instead it was Minnie being pushed to the side while Kween delivered all of the jokes? Was that the point? Because it was hella awkward and uncomfortable.

:clap3: Congrats to the best ep of down under. It really relied on the girls rather than production choices, so that’s why it was so strong :clap3:

I couldn’t really tell who was going to win tbh. I thought Hannah and Molly did really well but the winners had more beats. Mollys line about her foreskin made me scream. Probably one of the most graphic things ever said on drag race :rip:

Kween did so well but I do wonder how many jokes she wrote lol. And yeah it was odd. It seems more like literally reclaiming the space rather than talking about it almost? They did really well overall though.

Also the lip sync was good! The small stage kinda let it down. Beverly needed more room, her tricks kinda gagged me NGL.

The song choices already :clap3:

Also Ru and Michelle taking more fashion risks down under :clap3: Michelle looked sickening this week and kinda living for Ru’s hood moment next week lol.

I also felt the judges feedback to Minnie sounded like they cut a lot of her act out? They were talking about how she had so much personality and things but she only spoke like 2 lines in the final edited version :rip:

The producers are trying so hard to force Hannah and Molly down my throat and I’m not gagging. The GP doesn’t seem to like them either so I’m glad :gaycat:

Michelle looked SO good this episode. Ru's look for the snatch game :deadbanana:

I'm really enjoying this cast! Yuri made me scream with her physical comedy, I was scared they weren't going to like it for being too raunchy but it worked. Hannah is actually really well rounded and surprising me a lot; I appreciated their convo about racism in the aussie scene, considering how much it impacted season 1.

I have to agree that Kween/Minnie's set was the weakest. It was just a bit awkward and not as funny as the others.

Amazing lipsync though, when Beverly did the leg spin into the split I jumped :deadbanana:

Great episode, definitely the best one so far from both seasons :clap3:

No one did really bad in my opinion, but Beverly and Pomara were the bottom two for me as well. Kween and Minnie after them: their set felt very disconnected, Kween's delivery was very stiff and Minnie was barely there. More than a conversation on racism and white privilege, it felt like Minnie gave the spotlight to Kween which is a nice move, but not for this type of challenge. The way I screamed at Minnie's dress literally falling off on the runway :dies:

Spankie and Yuri were the best and I'm glad they won. Spankie being the frontrunner with two wins is wild to me and to be honest Yuri should be too because she was robbed of a win in the first episode.

Loved the conversation on racism in the werkroom. Way better than that tragic moment in S1. You could tell they were actually trying to have an educational conversation and it wasn't only for television.

So glad Pomara is gone, I really don't like her drag :sorry:

i just went through the hashtag on twitter and there's a full blown conspiracy that Ru is green screened and they shoot the judges from LA??? :deadbanana:

This was indeed a pretty good episode!

The challenge performances were strong, though this is not really my kind of challenge/humor.

I felt like there was a lot of yelling and a lot of recycled material I've heard before, but it was still good.

Spankie/Yuri winning made sense. It could've been Kween/Minnie too, but I'm not mad.

The btm2 was correct too and I agree with Beverly staying.

She was a bit manic at times, but definitely won and has more to show than Pomara.

I barely understood half the things Yuri said during the brunch, but glad she won :clap3:

Expected more praise for Hannah and Molly though. Ru looked GOOD tonight :heart2:

Beverly did the mosT in that lipsnyc :toofunny2: but not sad to see Pomara Eighth go

Honestly though WHY is the camerawork so bad that it makes something like this actually seem possible? :rip:

How Hannah and Molly didn’t win is beyond me

Spankie as a solo win would have been fine I guess but Yuri was kinda just there…same with Minnie just being there with Kween

I guess I agree with the bottom but I think they worked better as a team than Kween and Minnie with Minnie going home in my fantasy

Ru is DEFINITELY green screened in that workroom this episode -he must be it looks sooooo bad :jonny:

Episode was good and looks were good. But why does the lighting make even the main stage look like it's a green screen :rip:

Also, I hate Starstruck! Worst Y&Y song and not even the best Kylie collab with them - A Second to Midnight is so much better!

I thought Yuri was going to be in the bottom for mumbling her way through her set :rip:

Also everyone who called Hannah the Australia Baga Chipz needs to apologise because she has eaten up the runway the past two weeks

Okay I was kinda thinking this, I thought bloody hell here comes payola Chipz but she's got talent and her runways!! That mug is smooth. Maybe she came a bit :dancehall:

What a great episode this was! Truly the best one of both seasons.

This challenge is always a fun one. Deserved bottom 2 and elimination too, even though I’m not as starstruck by Beverly Kills as many of you seems to be. I hate when a queen relies too much on her leg tricks and starts throwing them with no logic, it was definitely too much and they didn’t fit the vibe of the song at all. A great factor for Pamora’s elimination was the oblivious pink granny pants she was wearing.

I think Hannah Conda stole this episode, her runway was also very good imo. She seemed like overrated to me at first, but she’s proving she’s actually quite talented and versatile. Definitely an early contender for the crown, together with Kween. They should have won this episode ‘cause they both destroyed their partners during the branch, while Spankie and especially Yuri (who is my crush for the season, tho) didn’t impress me at all.

I love Minnie, but I’m sure her days are almost over. It’s clear she is an incredibly seasoned queen, but it’s also clear she doesn’t care about winning or competing in general, she’s going home as soon as she’s in the bottom 2.

Spankie is still a question mark to me, the fact she has two wins doesn’t make much sense to me.

Best episode of the DU franchise!

I really thought the lipsync could have gone either way but those panties...

Yuri's hospital moment was concerning, I'm glad they came back though and managed to perform and even win. I was almost certain Hannah/Molly would win but I did prefer Spankie's/Yuri's part.

I howled at Pomara STOMPING into the werk room :bibliahh:had to pause and rewind.

Excited for snatch game.

Hannah Conda is what the producers thought Karen From Finance was serving.

I think the production is still so cheap-amateur because they’re filming it in New Zealand not Australia

You people keep saying this and it makes no sense to me, is New Zealand known for poor productions? :rip:

you guys should watch these if you're interested, pretty much the Down Under pit stop

i just started watching and Art is dragging the producers for americanizing the show since Australia doesn't have a drag brunch scene :ahh:

New Zealand doesn’t really have much of an entertainment/television industry so there aren’t many studios/production companies etc to choose from Australia isnt exactly Hollywood but it has a much bigger industry particularly in Sydney and Queensland. A lot of Hollywood movies are actually filmed here, more so since the start of Covid due to limited restrictions here for most of the pandemic.

And the only reason they're there in the first place is because COVID restrictions moved production out of Sydney for season one, and RuPaul elected to remain in New Zealand for season two because he prefers the privacy. :rip:

In short, Ru's fault again :clap3:

Finally got into this and Hannah is my front runner so far even if her face is botched.

Yuri got me nervous because the eye-candy is lacking minus Kween who I think isn't delivering like I thought they would.
