KFC Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I won't be watching. I don't think Michelle has the star power to anchor a season and the past 3 were bad enough anyway 1
Gui Blackout Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Obviously she's qualified to do it but idk a straight sis woman being the main judge of Drag Race just doesn't sit well with me. Too bad Courtney burned bridges cause she would be so perfect for it. 2
HungryByTheBuffet Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Paul really said no more How is this gonna work with her being the “tough” judge? is the air just always gonna be tense even when she comes visit the workroom? 1
Antonini Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I wonder if it’s a temp assignment since ru is busy doing his book tour…hmmmm

Iirc ru will most likely be back for season 5 if it gets renewed. I believe that when the casting call went out ru’s name was still attached but it was changed once they knew he would not be able to make it. A few queens have been rumored to be attached to guest judge so we should have some past contestants/winners showing up on the judges panel 1
Golden Hour Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Spoiler Sasha Colby is rumored to be the first guest queen, which doesn't align with the Down Under alumni mentioned in the article but she was in New Zealand for a few days at the beginning of filming for no apparent reason, so...
dumbsparce Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Idk, the day Ru won't be hosting any franchise is gonna come sooner or later but it'll always be awkward/macabry without him there. I hope he at least filmed the rumails.

NumbSoul Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Not sure how I feel about Michelle hosting... I'm open to seeing how it goes, but I'm keeping my expectations low. The one time Ru was gone and Michelle was hosting ended up being a bit of a mess, so... I LOVE however the news about past DRDU queens joining the panel I'm sure that's gonna be super fun!

Mr. Peanutbutter Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) Honestly, RuPaul seems to be completely over it for most of the recent international seasons he hosted so I don't think his absence will be very impactful. And even though Michelle is not a drag queen, she used to perform and she's been a judge for a long time so it's not like they picked a random person who has no grasp on drag Edited October 4 by Mr. Peanutbutter 1
Rigalo Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I like Ru ig but I've honestly never really felt her presence was sorely missed when she doesn't host (intl seasons) so I don't care
BrattyBottom Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Down Under has the worst queens of any franchise and basically none of them are memorable. It never seems like they have much of a budget either. Michelle is an average host and I can't see her handling it very well. This is going to flop and like Global, I don't think I'll watch. Also none of the creators I watch cover Down Under so I probably won't hear anything about it. 1

loveisdead9582 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 We'll see how the meet the queens goes over. They needed to up the budget for this season since ru isn't going to be hosting but I don't think they did.
