Drag Race Down Under | Season Four | And the winner is…

I was expecting an improv challenge but we got a crunchy acting challenge :rip: and everyone went  telenovela instead of housewife?

flour was amazing though and loved her runway too. Lowkey robbed but not mad at the outcome.

Gabriella’s runway sent me. The padding :ahh:

I'm sorry to say it, I really like Gabriella but I don't understand her take on drag AT ALL :rip:

I'm sad Ivory went home because she bought so much entertaining mess

Flor was kinda robbed but whatever

Ivory literally stomping on Rita in the lipsync :rip:

Rita in full glam in the work room with all the girls in boy outfits :rip:

That was one of the worst challenges ever. Gabriella would be low to safe on any other season :skull:

Yall saying Flor was robbed when she was not giving pop star AT ALL. Thought she deserved low.

Ivory should've stayed but at least she was iconic in all her three episodes. Poor Mr. Wiglit can't relate.

Rita is 100% going home next week though, right?! She's lucky these NZ girls are weak lipsyncers.

Gabriella was clearly top2 and had a good runway.

bumpa completely forgettable and TERRIBLE runway but somehow high above Ashley  (can’t believe I’m saying this)

Flor was robbed, Gabriella's runway was awful :mazen:

Not surprised to see Ivory & Ivanna go but it was sweet to see her call Anita right afterwards.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but that challenge was TERRIBLE :rip: These acting/improv challenges often get cringey, but this one was particularly awful and hard to get through.

I did actually think the runway was decent and I did enjoy both lipsyncs though.

The first one was more even. I kinda stanned Ivory, so I was bummed to see her go, but Rita did do well.

Ivanna was another queen I liked, but Rita kinda ate her up. She just emotes much better. I actually think she's a pretty good lipsyncer.

No one really felt like a deserving winner after that trainwreck, but I do think the Top3 was correct and I'm not mad at the winner.

Flor was insufferable, but at the same time gave the most memorable and "balls-to-the-wall" performance, so I guess that counts for something. Gabriella was probably the most solid performance in the challenge, which is why she won. Wouldn't have been anything to write home about normally, but I do think compared to the others she kinda did the best. I also think Bumpa did deserve to be up there. She felt natural and did a solid job. Again, nothing special, but out of the bunch, it was at least servicable.

am I crazy or did Ivory win the lip sync pretty easily :giraffe:

Flor did the best and was the funniest imo but I like Gabriella so I’m fine with her win. Not that she did particularly well during either but Rita definitely won her lipsyncs.

they are sweet but Rita and Bumpa need to go

FILLER Menu got them mad it seems :fan:

She definitely beat Ivory's overconfident and mediocre ass (Bore St. Snore teas, but Ivory isn't insufferable) and DESTROYED Anita's husband in those lipsyncs.

I'm finally able to tell Isis, Ashley and Gabriella apart. These damn white twinks :toofunny3:

Terrible episode. Flor was horrible, should have lipsynced. Half this cast can go home immediately. The only girls with a pulse seem to be Hollywould (beautiful and fine, run of the mill though), Gabriella (quirky and likable but… what else?), Isis (a VISION but personality nowhere to be found), and Flor (charisma but hasn’t really popped yet).

Is the drag scene in Australia and NZ just really small and causal? I know it’s allegedly more “camp” than America but 95% of these queens aren’t remotely funny or entertaining :rip: Ru seems so BORED every Down Under season and I don’t blame him

I think what happened this season is that none of the experienced/better queens have applied after seeing the show tear down Art Simone, Karen, Scarlet, even Hannah Conda was in the trenches after her season. :rip: Australian drag is really not made for family friendly tv so I get it. But the show doesn't reflect what we see in the clubs at all

I can’t speak for NZ, but Australian drag definitely isn’t as… “refined” for Television programming. Also, as someone mentioned, I don’t think many of the more seasoned queens are keen on taking the risk of potential reputational damage for no pay off & for what is clearly, a lack of investment or budget, particularly after Coco & Minnie.

We have fewer clubs here, a smaller scene & Queen’s can’t justify delaying a consistent weekly gig or dropping everything to fly to NZ.

The lack of cultural context is also a massive deterrent, imo.

Whattt why was Hannah in the trenches. I hope it’s not for the Egyptian drag or whatever she did years ago and apologized for. I love Hannah and you can tell she’s very genuine

is the show pushing/benefiting the drag scene there? like the uk and france seemed to be benefited from having drag race and queens actually got some spotlight on them.

Drag Race has had a HORRIBLE impact on the scene here in the uk :deadbanana:

Yeah I don’t know any of these queens pre drag race :rip: Australia is still a bar/club scene for the most part, there  are some really well known drag queens in Melbourne (art Simone’s driving show features a few of them) and they are nowhere to be seen lol. It’s fine to cast unknown queens but they are all kinda similar besides a few lol.

Hollywood seems new on the scene but is that the one everyone was talking about on Twitter with a bad rep lol?

I read somewhere that the established queens don’t audition because they don’t want their racist past exposed like Karen and Scarlett :toofunny3:
