gatito Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 //tw: KATY PERRY it's cause it was god awful and we could tell her heart wasn't in it. some people still refuse to see chromatica for what it really was: a collection of artpop and btw rejects that were revamped by bloodpop in an effort to ride on ASIB's success and it was BAD, how can you get in the studio with MAX MARTIN and deliver something as mediocre and grating as stupid love (even liddos argued it was an old demo and said it wasn't the real lead when it leaked. let's not act like gaga invented house when long before the label called in a favor to include BLACKPINK in chromatica (they clearly wanted nothing to do with it once it dropped) to make it trendy and fresh, KATY PERRY was experimenting with these euro sounds almost ten years ago back in 2013, the same year when she dropped an atomic bomb on gaga's career and y'all haven't know peace ever since even when it was called a flop and it wasn't very successful as a diss track, what she did on this song is way more authentic, compelling and fun than anything on chromatica so credit where credit is due, please stream and buy BEYONCE'S new single BREAK MY SOUL

Rotunda Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Chromatica isn’t bad, it’s just safe. Cause honestly that’s the only real negative you can say about it. It’s her most cohesive project, it’s authentic, and it’s very consistent quality wise. Gaga is usually known for throwing everything at the wall on her albums so Chromatica comes off as restrained (even next to Joanne). I don’t really revisit the album but I certainly wouldn’t mind hearing 90% of it if it ever came on, and I liked it on first listen. The only song that I can’t stand is ROM.

Blade Runner Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 (edited) The nerve OGHs have. 10 years and still the same sh+t. Call the Discord. Maybe those loonies will help you. OT: NOBODY gives a sh+t about Katy Perry. That's why she isn't even included in the conversation, lmfao. Edited June 21, 2022 by Blade Runner
ZIVERT Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 5 minutes ago, Nexto said: This should've too While Chromatica had some decent songs (Babylon, Sour Candy, 911), the problem lies in the fact that she promised one thing (90s house) but delivered dialed in pop songs that made barely any noise outside of the collabs. I think Gaga is over being the pop star she once was, and it’s time for her to move on and give us a glam-rock, 80s inspired album.
Digitalism Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I don't think Gaga likes this type of music anymore. She just did it to please the fans. She wants to do joannes And it wasn't trashed because of hype from the soundtrack. It always happen. It's the reason why lemonade had a bigger score than ST and 4 even both of them are better. It's the reason why Kendrick's last album had big meta score eventhough its one of his weakest
Nicholai Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Ok baby, whatever. If you can't accept that some people do not like the new Beyoncé single and your fave career is dead is not Chromatica's problem. Both Katy songs you listed are included in albums that are under Chromatica in Metacritic. If Chromatica is that bad...what is left for Katy's discography?
Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 It wasn’t bad, just generic. There was no passion in it, just standard dance production. The lyricism was also weak. I still jam to it, but compared to her other dance albums it’s no competition.

Ego Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Y’all would have trashed Chromatica regardless of the actual output, because ATRL just loves to undermine Gaga’s efforts. And not you actually claiming ‘her heart wasn’t in it’ with your whole chest as if it doesn’t include some of her most personal lyrics yet. As someone else mentioned above, if there’s actually anything to criticize Chromatica for, it’s that they didn’t go all out with the production. But Bey’s new single doesn’t stray away from your typical house beat either, so it’s not like it’s in any way better. If I had to compare the two, I would actually put Chromatica’s production ahead.

Not addressing the nonsense for the most part but acting as if Blackpink didn't want to be on Sour Candy when they are the only ones that have actively promoted and PERFORMED the song since it's been released Not to mention, they literally stated how all 4 of them have been influenced by Gaga and how excited they were about the collab since the beginning OT: At the end of the day Chromatica is still a 2B-times-streamed, #1 acclaimed pop album with a Grammy-winning #1 hit and another top 5, which is difficult to get. Nobody can take these stellar accomplishments from Gaga no matter how hard one tries
Alongoria13 Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 (edited) Chromatica was a lazy 90s compilation done to shut her braindead fans up. Being satisfied with that record just because it has oonts oonts shows how dumb and basic her fans are outstreamed by Miley Cyrus, less certifications than Rebel Heart and the streams carried by Blackpink and Ariana Grande yet they cling to it for their dear lives Edited June 21, 2022 by Alongoria13

Thus making it a smash
lovecatt Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I don't think it was trashed solely because it was 'oontz oontz' it was trashed because it was trash 'oontz oontz'
Theshigo Washidu Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 It's a very bland, boring album which was disappointing coming from someone like Gaga.
