That is... unbelievably bad. Brightest Blue just did an absolute number on her career

I don’t think it was BB so much as the album gap between 2015 and 2020. You can’t take four years off in the modern industry or you’re going to be forgotten.

Ellie and Foxes really disappeared for long. :dancehall2:

I mean the rollout for BB was just a nightmare with Close To Me coming out in late 2018 and the album not coming until summer 2020, the pandemic didn't help either of course :skull:

Idk what was going during the Close to Me era. Very weird label shenanigans or maybe her anxiety was flaring up again? No clue but she really should have dropped the full album in 2018 or early 2019 when CTM was relevant-ish. Ugh that was such a frustrating time

The song is a bop and it's cute but the hook gets boring quickly and the chorus just doesn't have much to offer...

I just don't know how they thought it was a good idea to use a years shelved song as a lead single :rip:

solo version sent to radio is alreay being sent to radio

it has a small new second verse and a pre-chorus repetition

big sean really elevated the song, the feat version sounds so much better

I want the solo version on DSPs  I don't mind Big Sean's feature but I imagine I'd prefer the solo

This is definitely an improvement from the singles Ellie released in her last era :clap3:

It's catchy and cute :jamming:

I just wish the chorus had more variations. By the last one, the song feels a bit repetitive :chick1:

It was a mixer of her jumping ship on Delirium era. She pretty much gave up after the first single then she took a massive break & came back with a chaotic rollout.

On top of that the album brightest blue you either loved it or hated it.

She really should have came back harder this era because this song isn’t good enough to win all the ppl she lost and she’s not doing anything with great artistry.

She’s starting to look like a one trick pony unfortunately.

Yea the 5 year break without a doubt tremendously affected her career.

It happens for every artist e.g. Foxes

She did drop droplets tho but the hype got completely diluted

My hope is that this is a slow burner and becomes a hit in the long run

excited to hear the solo version, big sean doesn't add anything to this song honestly

Looks too much like Christina Aguilera

The video is doing good tho, I know it probably has some ads, but still - not debuting in top 200 of Spotify UK is tragic

the video DEF got ads cause its likes ratio is so low

the spotify playlisting is absolutely **** so ... :rip:

Yeah, I saw Ellie having more views than new Demi Lovato song but Demi had like over 80k likes while Ellie had 13k likes :dies:

The response to this is overwhelmingly positive, which makes the lack of playlisting even more frustrating!

the Brightest Blue slander on it's second birthday :biblio:

This is honestly horrific. It's even worse since playlist reach literally doesnt mean **** if your song is placed as like #30 or some trash position lol

Very unfair. Are they on the same level?

Halsey is the QUEEN of Spotify payola, her other new song had a much higher playlist reach than Demi's lead single too

Ellie has revealed that the next single is a song from 2017.

well imo foxes does have like 3 songs better than this but yea muna have none

Home By Now is ten times better than this…

Regardless, this is cute for Ellie… hope it becomes a hit when all said and done.

This song is great, but the Big Sean verse is sooo unneeded. Please tell me there's a solo version on Spotify somewhere. :rip:

this is her weakest lead :noparty: sure it’s catchy enough but it’s so bland and gets old quickly

yall said this album would be Delirium 2.0 but if the rest is anything like this song it’s more like the Shein version of it
