Wow only 13k pure? That’s horrible for him. He would’ve missed the top spot had it not been for streaming. He’s really fell off these last two eras. Clb did way better if I remember tho. I think he’s done too much and he’s turning into The Weeknd and Ariana grande and ppl are getting burned out.

The numbers are not good. But this is not going to affect Drake in any way.

Drake's Apple Music numbers are always massive no matter what. He still has 7 songs in the top 10

Drake also pulls a lot of streams from Pandora.

Drake, Post Malone, BTS, Kendrick all declining. I wonder whose next.

The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran too

The new generations are picking their favourites and moving on from older acts, it happens every decade.

Millennial taste doesn’t dominate the charts anymore. Sorry bb.

My brother is 8 years younger than me and I don’t think he and his friends have listened to Drake, Post Malone, etc in years. I’m sure it’s the same among many Gen Z listeners. This started becoming painfully obvious to me in 2020 when Drake looked desperate to trend on TikTok

It seems like Taylor and Harry are two of the only millienial stars who have picked up Gen Z fans in meaningful numbers.

Maybe we should adjust our expectations then, instead of dragging :lmao:

No only 2 females in the top 20 :rip:

Morgan still in the 50k, at this point, he may pull an upset and end up with the best selling album of the year for a 2nd year in a row since Adele tumbled down already, she'll probably end up at #3 considering how stable Mediocre Bunny is.

Tbh no one is really clicking these days. Not for long periods of times. The days of Mariah, Eminem, Madonna, mj, etc are looking to be done. All these new artists that been coming out have a few hits and then they’re floppIng. A lot of these new tiktok artists are literally becoming the new one hit wonders. Music is really becoming a hard industry to make a living on anymore. Rap, reggae, and country are the three that dominate. And most of those are for a few years and then someone new comes and it’s over for them. I’m seeing more of gen z liking throwbacks and going with that and that’s why we are seeing more older albums dominate bc it’s quality over quantity. Meaning it don’t matter how many hits you try to put on one album. If the music isn’t that great, people are going to buy something that is. They will stream something that is. It’s pretty apparent that’s what has happens.

gen z LOVES millenial taste more than whatever is going on rn. That's why J Cole's 2014 single was top 10 on Spotify US a few months ago lmao. The music industry, especially in America, is in a horrible state. To the point that a 40 yo song is #1 in the UK lol. Sad af

I never said anything was dominating the charts in general, just that millennial stars aren't dominating anymore. This seems like the new normal to me: no music monoculture. Millennials were the last generation to have CD shops and MTV/VH1/TRL telling them what to listen to, or pop stars making the rounds on daytime talk shows to push their newest single, or even iTunes banners and discounts sending a song up to the top 10. Streaming has splintered music taste quite a bit, even in spite of playlists like TTH.

Personally I think it's amazing that this environment can allow an almost 40 year old song to go #1. It proves that an amazing song can always touch people. But it also means that the many music stars don't have a chokehold on the charts anymore. Drake is obviously still successful, but not the only guy people are talking about.

Why are you sick of this? How does that affect you? You always have an option to not listen
