Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 (edited) This is such a bad year for albums where are the Hit summer Singles? I feel like Harry & Bad Bunny and Future were the only ones to make noise this year. Apart from random Tiktok hits and running up that hill. Even Weekend didn’t have a major smash this year. Guess we just have to wait for Beyoncé Edited June 18, 2022 by Gorjesspazze9

IDK I can't understand the numbers I'm seeing. I presumed he'd do less than usual because the album wasn't well received but I didn't expect that to reflect first day numbers.

zoldyck Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Anyone has US and Global opening numbers for Weekend, Future, Jack, Kendrick, Bad Bunny, Harry and Post Malone releases from this year?
Kiss It Better Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 i expected 60m as well because people seem to be hating it, a 30 tea

TaggedGalaxy Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 I mean what were yall expecting from a surprise dance album release?
Starshine Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 I wish Apple Music released numbers bc I know Rap/R&B is bigger there.

Plus, you can't argue that 61M global for Drake isn't a severe underperformance. Flop =/= underperformance. Let's not confuse things. Adele saw all the ATRL threads about 30 underperforming and did some witchcraft. Not a single A+ List artist has released since her without underperforming as well

sugarysunflower Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Welp. Proportionally, based on number of tracks, a 40% decline from CLB and 20% decline from Scorpion. maybe because it was a surprise drop?

Badgalbriel Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Well, it is indeed not what I was expecting. But who cares.

Scorpion had 2 extremely successful singles to build anticipation and CLB he’d been dropping hints and teasers. this one was a bit left field strategy wise for him for a studio album release. plus we never had this ?
