Sergi91
Quote SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- Multiple special education students at San Leandro High School say they were discriminated against due to their disabilities. Even though they walked in graduation, they were not added to the graduation program and were told their diplomas were not ordered in time. Quote The next day, Joseph woke up at 7 a.m. to clean the frame where he would put his diploma, but they later found out the school excluded them again. "I said we are here to pick up the certificates and she looked at us and said 'oh we forgot to order the certificates. It's going to be about a month until you guys receive them.'" said Elena Munoz. hurricane326
Special education programs around the country are so underfunded and neglected. As someone who fell victim to one particularly violent environment, I wasn't even allowed to attend my high school graduation, much less appear on a roster with all the other students. I was handed my diploma on the last day of school. I still have nightmares.

Well I didn't start out in special ed; rather I was forced there halfway through 10th grade against my will. I was verbally, physically, and sexually harassed and assaulted based on my sexual orientation by other students, and no one but one counselor cared enough to help me try to leave, and even she couldn't beat the system, and she ended up leaving when I was in junior year. Senior year, a time when you're supposed to kick back and relax, was the worst. I almost had my head smashed through a window. I still cry about all my missed friendships and opportunities. I vented to some users on the Popa911 Gaga forum and they later banned me, and one of them who posts here called me a terrorist. I'll be living with it for the rest of my forseeable life
