Again if we talk about vocals, I have my playlist with Mariah, Aretha, Celine, Whitney, Christina, or even lyric singers, Britney succeded regardless of them because she brings something they dont.

Sales matter, it’s charts that don’t. People buy cheap food to survive so it’s hardly the same. Britney’s diamond albums certainly were not cheap. Did you know albums back then were $20? Music was like a luxury 
 

20$ back then were way more than they are today.

 

People chose to go out and line up to buy Britney’s albums. Todays streaming and even digital sellers don’t know that kind of star power.

 

same can be said about Kelly, she was the og American idol. America had to call in and vote. America chose talent!

I do hope the Covid protocols for the show end soon or something, cause I really loved when she would enter from the double doors and sing while walking through the audience. It made the performance have even more energy, which I think is what was missing here. Like I can just imagine everyone singing next to Kelly "Womanizer Woma- womanizer you're a womanizer".
