drivers license Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 why is this so much more addicting than the Gossip Girl reboot

So far it’s a lot better than the original version. y'all better be joking. it's really good, but i wouldn't go that far it's definitely eating... but the original, as messy it was, had that classic feeling. it had more complexity i guess, and it had really iconic funny moments. while, this feels more one-tone and they stuck with slasher drama. i do get the darker vibe is intentional. the creators are same as Riverdale/Sabrina, and the lighting makes that obvious
drivers license Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 their parents were terrible kids 5 vs 1 is overkill. poor Angela.

Venice B Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Can we all agree that Chip abused at least one of those girls? He's sketchy
Cas Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 I'm not sure where Chip did that but imo he's too goody good and there are some skeletons in his closet.

Spoiler Yup…I think Chip might be Imogen’s baby daddy/rapist Also my money is on THE PRINCIPAL BEING A! Especially after the baby stealing situation! His convo’s with the girls are also shady! A’s lair being on school property and only the principal could arrange something like that for himself. He is a man that is around their mother’s age and he is rather big and burly. Also this clip in EP7 is very shady and definitely intentional as some sort of a hint. ^my theory was right so I put it in a spoiler lol Edited August 18, 2022 by Bicassie
shookspeare Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 just got to watching this and I'm kind of surprised by the quality, I love the atmosphere and that it's not trying to be a carbon copy of the original that being said the new liars are way less compelling to me, the girl who has a thing going on with an old guy she met online is serving filler to me to the extent that I don't even remember her name. Also the tabby girl was written so heavy-handedly, she's beyond annoying with her constant film references and feminist diatribes. On a more positive note the new A is way more threatening than in the original series, which I love. Hopefully the characters grow on me bc the show has a lot of potential

SpankGangsta Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 That one user correctly predict everything Justice for Kelly's storyline, literally got butchered for useless Noa's boyfriend dopping storyline zzz I hope they don't axe the show though it was decent especially for Riverdale showrunner standards and has potential
illia Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 (edited) just finished it I really liked it, I was also satisfied with the A reveal although I wasn't too shocked, the chase sequence left a bigger impact on me The rapist reveal was too obvious though lol but I'm not complaining and Mouse's plotline really felt like a filler... what was the purpose of all of it and I swear to god if they don't renew for season 2 after that final scene I will never forgive them Edited August 18, 2022 by Flomik
StarsAllAligned Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 what was that..... a mess but entertaining
Venice B Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 4 hours ago, hardbrit said: yes to Karen's boyfriend Greg had so much potential like he's hot and dumb the amount of stuff they could've done with him and still they left him in the background only to get shot in the finale and they expected us to care Anyways these last few episodes were great. I really liked how the storylines went and the plotwists were also really well done. The school scenes in the last episode and that chase/fight scene were AMAZING, Imogen really is that *****. But overall I think the whole thing was kinda rushed, I think the could've done like two seasons so we could get more attatched to these characters and have a better development for their relationships. Like if they had developed Imogen/Chip's relationship I think his betrayl would hurt way more on us. But anyways I was entertained so I won't complain. Also that shoutout to Aria and Ezra at the end was cute, I liked it!
hardbrit Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 NOT ME just realizing Bailee Madison is the girl from Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Girl loves horror
matthado Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 (edited) I am not sure how I felt with the A reveal, but I enjoyed the last three episodes regardless. Why do I feel like Karen is still alive and pretending to be Kelly? Like IDK, I get some weird feeling still about it all. I was able to guess who the person was that attacked Imogen and Tabby. I had no idea that the actor who plays Greg played young Cal on Euphoria. Edited August 19, 2022 by matthado
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted August 19, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted August 19, 2022 Can't wait to binge the whole thing love hearing that so many people have enjoyed it!
Nip Tuck Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 what a **** reveal after building everything up so well the two episodes before
Cas Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 To be honest, the first seasons of the original PLL were miles better than this one. There was so much mystery around everyone, the breadcrumbs here and there. The HBO max version was way more straightforward and character driven imo, to the point it didn't feel like a PLL tv show. Having said that, I liked it. Props to @Bicassie for figuring out the plot.

Kevin2803 Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 I liked the show overall, but i am not sure about the reveal. The A reveal was so random and had almost no impact. Even if the evil Spencer twin reveal in the original was bad, it still had me shook. But here i was like
