Ik she sounds bitter most of the time she makes statements like these but she's right.

Sit down, Karen.

You got your fame through a TV sitcom, and TV used to be looked down upon and ridiculed as a lessor form of entertainment by the Hollywood movie industry.

So get with the times and get over it.

She's right. Also these online 'celebrities' aren't nearly as big as the ones made famous by TV back in the day.

There are some points she, the Smartwater/Aveeno/L’Oreal/Emirates/Vital Proteins/Xiidra spokeswoman, has made

Of course she'd say this :rip: She can remain bitter and talentless

Why would she be bitter about TikTokers and YouTubers? Her net worth is bigger than all of them combined. :rip:

TV being looked down upon pre-streaming was due to elitism. TikTokers and YouTubers aren't disrespected because it's new. It's because they're not producing sustainable stars. Some of them get lucky with viral moments and then they're gone.

Literally the same can be said for TV.

For every "Friends", there were 200 other shows that lasted a season and were forgotten.

It's the same elitism again.

That can be said about anything from books, restaurants, movies, fashion trends, etc. The ones that are actually successful like Friends, Seinfeld, etc. are never forgotten. That can't be said about TikTok, YouTube videos, Vines, etc. that go viral. Does anyone from Gen Z even remember the fat white man who made those Numa Numa videos that were viral in the late 2000s? :skull:

They remember Justin Bieber, who started on Youtube.

They remember Lil Nas X, who started as a Tiktok meme.

They are purchasing obscene amounts of makeup by Jeffree Star, who got famous on social media.

etc etc etc

It's just a new form of media and yes there will be Fad's but there will also be those who sustain success over decades

That's a good point (and I agree with the general idea that people need to adapt to current trends), but those accomplishments were made outside social media. Justin started out as a YouTuber and got offered a record deal because of his YT videos, but he became famous as a music artist and so did Lil Nas X. I don't know anything about that other person so won't comment on that.
