Ah yes she tried, got nominated but failed to win. So yes it is hard to get.

If it didn't happen in their prime, ofcourse they are not going to try in later stage of life.

 

There are multiple people who can't get one from their own field despite trying like Katy, Sia, Dianne, Glenn. What's make you think, it is just matter of trying. If Tony couldn't give competitive award to Streisand, they aren't going to handle it easily to Cher/Kate. 

 

Being told NO one time is enough, that certain body of of voters don't F with them. They cared, they tried and it simply didn't happen. They moved on, instead of looking desperate. There is very huge difference between caring and desperation.

you thinking kate wouldn't get a tony if she tried  I mean not in musical categories but on the play ones? 

 

Also according to you trying more than once is being desperate? You think that if your dream is to be an EGOT you will just stop after doing it once?
