When did the T word become offensive?

I don't think the word itself suddenly became offensive, but it definitely was tolerated/"accepted" until around the early/mid 2010s.

The transphobia in here :rip:

I didn’t know that it was a slur until 2015. I had a friend who was trans who told me that it was offensive and I’ve never used it any more. I used it when i was younger a couple of times because we had a t-girl in our class and when referring to her I said the word even though I didn’t say it negatively.

kinda agree with this tbh. it was sorta ok for lgbt members to use it, but for outsiders i thought it was always derogatory

Yeah, that's my understanding as well.

Ye, same as it's sorta ok for gay men to call their female friends the b word in certain circumstances.

I never used the t word, but i assume if i had a trans friend i'd be using it around them in the same way as i use the b word around my female friends.
