I got hired Dec 2020 at a drug company where we do rebates and a patient assitsiant program for a knee injection and honestly this is the chillest job I ever had. Only problem is they asked me how much I wanted to make and I lowballed myself and said 15. I really should have said 17 cause that's what the last company I worked for paid me. Anyways I stayed loyal and hope for a raise and never got one. And at this point it's been 1.5 years. Still I stay cause it's just so relaxed and the calls I get are so short and easy and everyone is happy that you are helping them so that's why I stayed. I got the balls finally to speak with hr and renegotiated my salary to $18 an hour and I'm over the moon!!! I told them I got a job offer who were gonna pay me 17 and was considering it since I need money badly hoping they would match the pay. My hr lady offered me a 3 dollar raise and I'm so happy ? she told me I better stay a long time and better tell the other company no thanks. and I definitely want to! I can't belive I'm gonna get paid that much more money to do the same job and I totally plan to up my game and give my all ?

How bout yall?

I’m currently in the process of finishing my thesis and having a bunch of job interviews and it’s all kind of stressing me out but we’re gonna get to the other side!

It's going fine but my manager is TRYING me and the turnover is so high so seriously thinking about quitting before I even find another job. Would be nice to have a couple months off, and maybe get into contracting work.

I don't have a degree and I'm not really good at academics, but luckily, I got a cool entry level job with production. It's really chill but I find myself wanting more. Living in the Bay Area its really hard if you don't make a certain amount and I want to get a better job like admin or maybe more office or higher pay, but nobody is willing to share their secrets. I keep seeing and hearing about friends and TikTok viral stories of how people got their job with no degrees or certificates and It makes me feel bad that I cant do the same or have the resources to do so because I grew up in poverty.

I'm kinda comfortable and not depressed anymore, but I kinda want more or to be truly comfortable and not check to check. I wish they had guidance on these kinda things in life.

Overworked, feel burnt out working at this credit union. 90+ hours, but the pay is my highest paying job so far, at $28/hr. Got into it because of family but I barely have the energy and drive to get to focus on working on myself. I can’t find the balance

i’m taking my final classes at the moment, and at long last i will be finished with university in early august (that’s 7 f*cking years lol!) and i currently work at a hotel front desk, which is a cute job. i’ll be leaving by the middle of next month, as i’ll finally be moving towards the big city

i like my job way more than my previous one (which was at a beauty store) but it’s not as stimulating as i sometimes wish it would be. i’ll be moving on to a big boy job soon though so yay

I graduated in december and got my first job three months ago, I really like it, everybody is super nice and I like my job (I work in marketing). Nothing feels more fulfilling than resting in the week-end after a work week. When I was home from January to March I felt super depressed, getting a job has definitely improved my life a lot.

My boss is incredibly harsh to me and dgaf, embarrassing me and telling me off in front of the whole office regularly. I learnt from my mistakes during different projects when I started and built up a friendly and reliable reputation amongst all the team who ask me to do them work and to go client meetings / consult / represent on client calls in front of CEOs/CFOs and Sr Management which I feel privileged in doing.

But there’s another guy who I’m supposed to work alongside who has been hired who has zero technical expertise in this sector at all, no skills, comes across as a dud. I wonder how or why he was hired (without being arrogant) but this is a specialist field. And I’m supposed to be training him up ….. but I’m not his senior. Plus now I end up doing two peoples jobs and do extra hours for the same pay cos my boss is so chill and soft on him making mistakes every single time and coming in late, but I was severely scrutinised every time and I have to fix the errors and take the bait whenever issues go wrong or work is sent late. I raised this issue and all I got told was I’m being impatient and aggressive, yet this is how I was treated by my boss to get prepared for the nature of this job. Hmpfff.

I’m still getting job propositions elsewhere which sometimes come in at double my current salary which would put me in above 6 figures + bonus + equity, but I don’t know how long I should stay here and wait it out. Or if my boss will provide a promotion & salary increase, which would demonstrate my work achievements (and to also combat inflation).

I work for an AWS Partner at a management position. I make a lot a year and life is good. My job is very drmanding and I feel like I belong to every department because of how much I have to multitask.

At the same time, it's 100% remote so I don't have to spend time in traffic, etc. I also have a lot of freedom to get out during my day if needed, in case I need to go to a doctor appointment or something.

I really like my job but I want to make more money now. So I'm not sure if I should stay or try to go solo.

Wait a little bit, be strong and start looking around for better opportunities before quitting. Unless you have a lot of savings that will keep you comfortable during the time between jobs.

I work as a camera person for a news agency so it's pretty stressing. 30h/week.

I've been 3 months on internship without salary and now they have extended my contract six months for ~300$/month :clown:

Blergghh I know I really should line the next thing up before I quit but... I really could survive a few months without pay fairly happily. It would be such a blessing to have a second not working...! But it would definitely be a bit of a stress. :katie:

a month……. you should be getting that a week. Quit asap. You’ve racked up the experience and other jobs will take you for a much higher salary

Work is killing me. I am a foster care case planner and have been extremely overwhelmed.

i had a case with a paranoid schizophrenic mom and that transferred after a year back in April. That was my most demanding case that I’d have anxiety about. Then I learned three of my other cases would be wrapping up. I was excited and happy to think I’ll be free of these four cases and deal with something new. Finally got caught up with my notes (the expectations are insane). But only freaking one closed the other two cases had hold ups.
Forward two months (now) they hopefully close next week. But the case with the paranoid schizophrenic mom might go back to me and I’m freaking SHOOK. I cannot deal with that **** again. And just recently got a high profile case where one of the siblings was abused with bruises all over her body and brain injury as well ? reading these intakes are terrible. Anyway, I’ve been complaining of how I have to travel 4 hours in one day just to bring the little girl from her school all the way to the agency to see her mom. (I have to supervise family visits 2 days a week for two hours each day for each case with visits) I have four cases with these types of visits. so basically last week I felt all I did was bring the children and then watch their  visits. My agency is stupid! There should be someone who can get the kids and drop them off if needed without me, I have other **** to do.

Anyway sorry for the rant lmao. I just got a $4 raise last month. I’ve been at the job since March 29 2021 and my supervisor wants to give me the senior position which comes with another raise. But I have to get certified in something called SBC, but I’m not freaking able to if I have no time throughout the week SMH

we also get bonuses in September (I think between 2K-3K) so that’s nice I guess. I didn’t qualify for it last year since I didn’t work all year.

i hate interviews and stuff so I’ll probably stay at this job for a while. I need a damn master’s degree but IDK.

No, about 45-50 hours a week, so really 90-100 hours every two weeks depending on if they need me to come in earlier or want me to work on Sundays for certain financial events we have for the community.

I’m the youngest in my credit union(I’m 22 years old, the second youngest in my work is a 30 year old, the rest of them are in their late 30s to late 50s and early 60s and there’s 11 of us), so at times I feel as if I’m not contributing or that this isn’t what I want to be doing for the long run.

I worked support staff in a psych rehabilitation, which was low pay and a bad office environment for years. But my final day was last Friday. I started my mobile crisis specialist job this week and the weight off my shoulders from my other job is palpable. :jonny2: My field placement might offer me a job as a full time therapist after I graduate in August, which would be salaried, so fingers crossed!

My first field placement was in foster care, and I give a LOT of credit to anyone who does that work. Those visits take up so much time. I’m finishing my masters in social work, so if you want to talk or vent or anything, feel free to pm me!
